"Quiet and quaint during an early march visit. I think we were the only people staying there! Pool was great, and our room was right on the lakes edge. 50meters from the ferry terminal. Perfect if you’re looking for cheap and cheerful but don’t expect much more than the perfect base to explore the island"

"Hotel bastante desastre en cuanto al estado de las instalaciones (Habitaciones con ventanas totalmente rotas, necesidad de pintar paredes , problemas con las duchas, baldosas en la piscina rotas, etc .)
Música demasiado alta y hasta altas horas de la noche en alguna ocasión en la zona de la piscina .
El personal me trató bastante bien .
El entorno es un sitio precioso y este alojamiento es una opción asequible pero si volviera buscaría otro mejor . "

"The hotel is bordered by the lake on one side and virgin forest on the other. I took 3 marvelous meals a day and the evening meal had a roaring camp fire. Staff were superb. A boat trip organised by the manager was wonderful, many lake birds, families of monitor lizards and a flock of african grey parrots! Rooms clean, food good, drinks cold, assistance with travel, infact assistance with anything. What more do you want! "

"Amazing place to stay in Kalangala. Such a comfortable and clean place to stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful. As we stayed during the week we had the place to ourselves. Pool area was lovely. Food was delish! The forest activities were a lot of fun! It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature as well as the views of Lake Victoria! "

"Modern, recently built hotel, with the most amazing lake view from our balcony. Surrounded by gardens and forest, with plenty of wildlife, such as birds and monkeys.
The hotel has a swimming pool, plus adventure activities, such as zip lining, just a short walk away. Although it isn’t a beachside hotel, it is possible to walk to the beach via a pretty forest route. Similar to other hotels on the island, the staff can arrange to pick you up and drop you off at the ferry terminal, free of...

"Well where to start?
Let’s start with the good things. Is a beautifully located, peaceful resort. The rooms are spacious and well tended and staff are very friendly. Also I’d heartily recommend the fired Tilapia for dinner.
But there are downsides. Big downsides. The resort is run down and little effort is made beyond the rooms. Cheap plastic chairs, pealing dirty bench’s, metal loungers without cushions and bizarre seats around the fire (which is almost never set). The restaurant is...

"I stayed 2 nights in a Mirembe cottage- my friend had the cottage next door and we had a dedicated outside eating area, from where we were served our food.We were served by James who was consistently courteous and efficient .We felt like film stars on a tropical island as we ate delicious food sitting by the lake watching a wide variety of birds - it was just such a treat!"

"The room we were given was not what we booked. When asked for the room we booked we were shown an incredibly run down version of it in a building that was undergoing repairs so we opted for the room they initially assigned. It costs $50000 UGX to get a ride to town so we felt a bit trapped but I’m sure people accustomed to resorts are used to this.
We went on an amazing nature walk that was offered for free, our guide Joseph was very knowledgeable and accommodating, beautiful views and forest, should not be missed.
Our trip really turned around when we met Ismail, he helped us rent a motorcycle so we could tour the island, then made sure we got a table for the Candlelit Valentine’s Day dinner even though it wasn’t part of our package. The campfire every night right on the water is beautiful and definitely a highlight. Tour the spiritual caves just outside town if you get a chance 10000 UGX per person. Food service is slow here but all the servers were excellent as were the front desk ladies. The pool was lovely, cool and clean could just use a few umbrellas and more lounge chairs. Overall a good place to stay on the island:)"
