The big con is definitely that the apartment is very poorly insulated and you can hear every single bump and sound and laughter if there’s neighbors it’s a nightmare for sleep. "Peaceful, beautiful scenery and homely. The hosts were friendly and helpful to share about transport and food options, and answered my questions when I had difficulty navigating Furano (my first time in Hokkaido). As a solo traveler without a car, I am grateful that they picked me up on my first day and sent me to the bus stop on my last day. House is very comfortable and spacious. Thanks Penguin and Jane for being such great hosts!"
"The hotel is a little difficult to get to if you don't have a car. The bus runs only a couple of times a day from the airport so plan accordingly and is at the top of a hill (which makes sense for ski but is a trek if you're on your feet). It is a very clean and beautiful property and the staff go above and beyond to be helpful and make your stay comfortable. The views from the room are spectacular. "

"We loved our stay! This was perhaps the most thoughtfully designed house I’ve stayed in. For example, a bathroom with a seat and grab bar (great for anyone sore after a long day, not just seniors); a compact drying rack that somehow fits a full load of laundry; subtle black-cat decor that adds a cute touch but doesn’t clash with the wooden farmhouse aesthetic.
Our favourite part of our stay was interacting with Kyoko-san, who runs the place solo yet is always cheerful and available when you need her! We enjoyed our chats with her and she gives the best recommendations for what to do in Furano!
And the animals! Moon-chan, the resident dog, greeted us each morning and evening, and the property has chickens, a donkey, a goat, and even an owl.

"The hotel is about a 10 minutes drive from Furano town, tucked away in a peaceful and scenic area surrounded by nature. It was so relaxing to wake up to the beautiful mountain views right from our room.
The onsen was super soothing after a day of exploring! It does get a bit crowded in the evening, so I’d recommend going later at night if you want a quieter time. The whole area is really calm and picturesque, perfect for winding down.

"Overall this our stay at this property was poor considering how much we paid per night. The laundry room was very cluttered and dirty with dead bugs everywhere. The dryer not working and there was no space to hang any of our clothes to dry. One night we had an awful sleep because of noisy guests beside us, who had a party until about 2-3am (despite the very clear quiet hours / no party rules). My husband and I had to manage these guest and the party on our own in the middle of the night. When we notified the owner/property manager, it took over a month to get back to us with communication that the owner disapproved of any kind of refund or compensation for this experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone or book again in the future. "
