Imagine strolling along Bocas del Toro Ferry Terminal for some great waterfront pics when in the heart of Bocas Town. If you carry on walking you'll get to Bocas Marina and Playa El Istmito for some more water views.
Institute for Tropical Ecology & Conservation - Bocas del Toro Biological Station
3/5(1 review)
Travelers who enjoy the great outdoors might want to go to Institute for Tropical Ecology & Conservation - Bocas del Toro Biological Station, located 0.7 mi (1.1 km) from central Boca del Drago. Why not take a stroll along the beaches and watch the sunset while you're here?
If seeing the sights is on your list of things to do, head to La Gruta Cave— just one of the landmarks located 0.4 mi (0.7 km) from central La Gruta. Why not take a stroll along the beaches and watch the sunset while you're here?
Hop between lush tropical islands, snorkeling vibrant coral reefs and spotting sloths in the jungle. Surf world-class waves, kayak mangrove tunnels, or simply sway in a hammock on pristine beaches.
They need to finish paving the downtown streets, but Bocas and especially the surrounding islands are like no other place I've been. Bastimentos closest to Bocas Town is my favorite! If you love boats, you will live Bocas! Tropical Venice for sure!

Excellent
Great party area, Bocas town is still building sewers and streets are dirt roads, but the water is pristine and beaches are beautiful.

Every street in Bocus Town is currently under construction. Walking was no problem and is the way to get around town. When the construction is done, the streets will be great!

"Perfect for me, room was clean and was comfortable, staff are amazing. There is some construction ongoing but not a bother unless you want to sleep all day. Owner very helpful. Will stay again "
"I have stayed here many times, and the relaxed vibe always brings me back. The grounds have one of the best sunset views. The staff is fun and attentive. We think the restaurant has some of the best food and drinks in Bocas. It easy to get a water taxi to Isla Colon or other islands. You can relax by the pool, enjoy the beautiful garden, or read a book in your over the water cabina."
"We used Boca as a base to explore. The place is small but comfortable beds, full kitchen in our unit and a full shared kitchen across the hall. Air conditioning is quiet and powerful. Power outlets by every bed. Erica the manager is very friendly and helpful. The daily rate is unbeatable. A good supermarket around the corner. We stayed 4 nights. Consider take the bus and do the bat cave."
"This was a great place for winding down for a couple of nights at the end of our 10-day Panama trip. We were impressed with the attentive staff who worked so hard to make things easy and comfortable. And the food at the restaurant was delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed the the open air dining room as well as the full beachfront service for lunch and drinks. The water in the area is much too rough for swimming, but we took long walks on the immaculate and isolated Bluff Beach, and when we felt like a dip, we swam in the pool. Our room with a king bed and jungle view was simple, very clean, and carefully appointed with a comfortable bed and luxury linens. They even supplied yoga mats in our room. There are board games, a ping pong table, and a billiards table for entertainment. We also appreciated the eco-friendly efforts, such as the use of solar panels and a refillable water bottle service. We would have signed up for their jungle hike tour but the guide was not available on the particular days that we were staying. We instead relaxed on the beach, being mesmerized by the crashing waves. Thank you to the staff and management who helped make our Panama vacation so memorable!"
"Only stayed for one night (Thursday), but the hotel was perfect for us!
The only thing to be mindful about is the constant requests for taxis or tours (or what our plans are for tomorrow) at the nearby businesses on the street. But there’s not much the hotel can do about that, and it may be helpful for some tourists. "
"The staff and food of the resturant of this place totally made this hotel. It is such a charming place. I would stay there again without any hesitation. "
"We had a wonderful time staying in one of Koko aqua lodge’s over the water bungalow for a few days while visiting Bocas Del Toro,Panama….And what made it even better were the super friendly people who run the place in particular Heylis who is a great host and a real good singer in a local band…Thank you all ☺️"
"A fun and peaceful place to stay, away from the large crowds. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the main town or borrow bikes to ride from the owners. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking, and you can easily arrange for taxi boats to pick you up right from here to head out on your next adventure."
"Wow! This resort is absolutely amazing! Bekar went above and beyond for us! He even brought in a TV to the lobby so we could watch the NHL playoff game! Food is 10/10 as well. We will definitely go back! "
"The best place to stay. We can’t wait to come back again to stay here. Beautiful and serene, Zen place to escape. You have to get a Thai massage and do the Jungle tour with the biologist too. "
"There was lots of room inside, not terribly comfortable but comfortable enough. It was nice outside, but I stayed out too long and got eaten by the sand fleas. It was actually a pretty nice location. There was a little trouble communicating, but the staff was very nice and helpful."
"Nice simple rooms.
It was clean and you had the amenities needed. Breakfast in the morning was good and you can see lots of fish from your deck.
The taxi boats zooming past are more entertaining than annoying "
"Excellent staff Galvin Edgar Yuri Azizi and owner Andrea the best!!!
Close to restaurants and Nice.
Galvin fue muy lindo y atento y ademas que consiguio mejor tour para playa Estrella
Lo recomiendo .
Regresamos pronto

"This place is magical. David, aka “Odessa”, is great. Getting to the place is an adventure, and once there, you are surrounded by jungle (without bugs) and the sound of the ocean. "
"Apartment Casa La Parc is operated by Mrs Magaly and her family, while we stayed there, they were nothing but the most welcoming people with Mrs. Magaly treating us like our own mother for the week, i couldnt think of a better place to stay with large rooms, great views and the most amazing service"
"Wonderful property. We were able to dive in the water right outside our door off the deck. Mandy and PJ are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was awesome. Food nearby was awesome. The only knock I would have is that across the channel, the clubs in Bocas Town are loud until 2 AM. Fortunately, Mandy and PJ provide white noise sound bars in the room. We would definitely come back!"
"Booked and paid for an ocean view room with a balcony but only garden view rooms were available so instead of the waves crashing I heard the property next door doing Los construction all day long …. Other than that the place was great "
"Really noisy, I even approached the lobby representative (lady) and informed her about the noise during my stay. She did confirm that next to room 203 there is a storage room under the stairs. The first night it was a disturbing noise around 11:30 pm. m. and the next night it was a loud noise again around 4:45am. m. and 6:40 a.m. m. (same day).
I also paid for room 202 as well and my family members also complained about noise coming from lobby staff near room 202.
in summary stay away from rooms near or around rooms 202 and 203."
"We went here for peace, the jungle, birds, the ocean. Oh MAN did it deliver. Lovely high perched cabins right in the trees. The cabins are basically brand new, the lovely smell of wood still lingers. Sealed tight as a drum, you can lie in bed and be a part of the jungle with the screened windows wide open, a part of nature. I’ve never been woken by howler monkeys at 6am and it’s an experience I will never forget. The beach is right down the road. David is so helpful and friendly. He even made a grocery run for us so we could luxuriate over breakfasts after morning birding! Cabs are available at a phone call or just going up and down the road. The rough roads lead to even more amazing jungle or small beach community experiences. Chocolate farms, ex-Pat bars, superb restaurants, starfish loaded beaches, tropical birds beyond your wildest dreams. The warmest, kindest locals. I didn’t want to leave this enchanted world. "
