We felt like we were in the middle of the nature waking up to the sound of birds and parrots, having breakfast on the terrace is amazing with squirrels and puppies running around. The staff is the most friendly and helpful we were so spoiled great hospitality, recommended to everyone."

"We had three nights here. The temperature during the day was very hot and humid, as were the nights. Hibiscus villa has air conditioning and a fridge, which helped to make our stay comfortable. Service is very helpful. We needed a car and driver and this was arranged for us at short notice. Better to give a few days notice. Breakfast on the patio, surrounded by fruit trees and other plants was nice. Room is basic, but comfortable. If you choose to stay here you will be well looked after. "

I woke up in the middle of the night and I can’t use the faucet because there was no water, told in the morning why they shut off the water system, I didn’t get the right answer. "We loved our stay at the Hungry Lion - super close to the Sigiriya rock (we walked). The nicest thing is the location and friendly atmosphere. For a budget accommodation the room was clean and fresh, a few ants in the bathroom but no big deal. Air con was great -3 restaurants to walk to. A rustic stay in a beautiful location for seeing wildlife. This was one the best parts of our trip and would love to have stayed longer so much wildlife at the location we saw 2 hornbills and elephants on the road on our drive out. "Our stay at Sigiriya Rock Hide was amazing! Beautiful quiet location with a view of Sigiriya rock from the top level restaurant. The food was delicious and very generous, especially the breakfast. The rooms were comfortable with A/C and hot water (just took some time to warm up but was very nice). The pool was very nice amongst a lush garden and was very clean and the perfect temperature. The staff were so incredibly friendly and hospitable. One evening, it was one of their staff member’s birthday and they invited us to have cake with them which was very sweet and kind. They also helped organise a taxi for us to our next stop in Badulla. I highly recommend staying here!! "
