"The hotel is very close to the train station, very convenient, yet it's a quiet place to stay. Staff are very professional, and communicate well in English. Will come again when visiting Yangawa next time!!!"
"We were unaware on our reservation through Hotels.com that our reservation included breakfast and dinner. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and dinner was basically the same every night - not what I am looking for in a vacation. Still the dinner is very good. Having said that, all the food is very Japanese, so not what all travelers can do.
The hotel itself is gorgeous with amazing amenities. The staff lovely although not too comfortable with English which is fine of course. We particularly enjoyed the massage chairs, cold plunge and sauna. But the in room onsen bath was my favorite!"
"The property had both free and paid parking which was a bit odd. As we had larger vehicles we felt it safer to park in the paid parking lot rather than on the spots directly off the street which we may have stuck out of a little ($5 a night). Simple rooms with decent beds and all the necessities (small desk, bed side table, etc. Bathroom was clean and had all necessary amenities. The only complaint was the doors are a little thin meaning it was a bit noisy if other guests were loud in the hallways. "
"Was good especially in winter month where the snow covers the tree top. Dinner is good. Breakfast is just nice. Not too heavy.
Nice place. Well maintained. Not overcrowded.
Service is good. The bus shuttle service provided is a big plus. Thank you. "
"The owner is very nice and friendly. Quiet location. There are many shops and restaurants if you have a car.
Each room has air cond, but the house itself is cold in winter and I hesitated to take a shower. Instead we went to nearby onsen to get warm."
"It was a bit far from Kumamoto city area, but the room was spacious and onsen was pleasant. Took a train from Tamana station to go to Kumamoto castle. "
"I absolutely loved our stay here. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were absolutely fantastic, the food from the restaurant was incredible, and the area around the hotel was beautiful and exciting to explore. Unfortunately, I didn't have an opportunity to use the public bath facility, so I can't say anything about that.
Just to note, only a few of the staff speak English so basic Japanese skills would be recommended. The station is a 20 minute walk from the hotel, so keep that in mind as well.
I had only one negative about the property, and that is there is no easy access to a laundromat. According to staff the nearest laundromat was a 10 minute taxi ride away.
I loved this place and would stay again if I'm ever able to return here."
