"We really enjoyed our stay and the hosts are very friendly, helpful, and communicative. The bus stop is within 3 minutes walking distance and the train station is within 30 minutes walking distance, but the bus can also take you to the station. The property is very well maintained and clean, with all needed amenities provided including washer and dryer. The only thing to consider is that the bedrooms are upstairs, which may be less accessible for individuals with mobility impairments. Otherwise, overall excellent experience and would definitely recommend! "
"Perfect place to stay as a base to do some hiking in the mountains. Wonderful that it has an onsen complimentary for guests - very welcome after a hike! Communal cooking & eating facilities extensive and a good place to meet other guests. Friendly and helpful staff.
The only minor negative was no air-conditioning as it was quite warm. "
"Peaceful, beautiful scenery and homely. The hosts were friendly and helpful to share about transport and food options, and answered my questions when I had difficulty navigating Furano (my first time in Hokkaido). As a solo traveler without a car, I am grateful that they picked me up on my first day and sent me to the bus stop on my last day. House is very comfortable and spacious. Thanks Penguin and Jane for being such great hosts!"
"The hotel is a little difficult to get to if you don't have a car. The bus runs only a couple of times a day from the airport so plan accordingly and is at the top of a hill (which makes sense for ski but is a trek if you're on your feet). It is a very clean and beautiful property and the staff go above and beyond to be helpful and make your stay comfortable. The views from the room are spectacular. "
"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel The location is excellent with many restaurants nearby. It is an older hotel with the standard smaller rooms. Our twin bed room had plenty of space to store our suitcases and move around, with table and chairs for setting. The bathroom was very small and one drawback it was just a regular toilet. The staff were friendly and helpful if you needed anything. One drawback of the hotel is the carpet in my room at least really needed to be replaced or cleaned, there were stains, the rest of the hotel and our room was in near perfect condition. Next time I'm in the area I will probably stay at the hotel again."
"The photos were accurate as well as the description. It’s a very cozy place in an insanely beautiful location. The exterior might be shocking to some expecting a high end house but it was wonderful and spacious inside. "
"The room was very spacious and new. The location is fantastic if you are driving. Close to many amenities like convenient shops and restaurants (within 15 mins drive or less). Free laundry near lobby area.
However, parking is limited on property."
"It was amazing. Room was big enough to store 2 luggages. Toilet clean and smell good. Only thing is the parking: first come first serve basis. If you’re late, you might not be able to get a parking and had to park further up which imo its far. "
"Check-in was fast and the staff was friendly. The room was spacious and clean. However, the tempurature in the room was too warm and I wasn't able to get the AC working so I had to leave a window slightly open to cool down. This might be because the hotel is in the mountains, so there was a big difference in outdoor and indoor tempurature that I didn't adjust to. Anyways, it's a walkable distance from the Asahidake Ropeway, and there's a short marsh hiking path nearby. It's a long drive to the hotel, so I would mainly recommend it if you want to go to hiking on Mount Asahidake."
"The hotel is about a 10 minutes drive from Furano town, tucked away in a peaceful and scenic area surrounded by nature. It was so relaxing to wake up to the beautiful mountain views right from our room.
The onsen was super soothing after a day of exploring! It does get a bit crowded in the evening, so I’d recommend going later at night if you want a quieter time. The whole area is really calm and picturesque, perfect for winding down.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again if we’re back in Furano!"
"The Chalet was informal and very welcoming. The staff is amazing and helped us every day with dinner reservations. The onsen on site was terrific, and the breakfast was delicious. We will return!"
"Spacious and very close to slopes. Tucked away at edge of Kitanomine side which made it quiet and easy to park. Kitchen had everything we needed, and there was washer/dryer. English directions for how to use everything. Would definitely stay again!"
"A very happy peaceful and aesthetic setting
The staff had minimal English ability but went out of their way to be helpful
The hotel is isolated but that gives it such a wonderful feel "
"Our stay at La Vista Daisetsuzan was a highlight of our trip to Japan. We spent 3 nights here and throughout the whole trip, the staff were friendly and kind, the food - especially the French dinner and the breakfast - was DELICIOUS, and we loved the overall feel of the hotel. Would highly recommend staying here! "
"Great location in town. Near many eateries and convenience stores. The house is big and spacious, quite well equipped but very basic. Sleeps 6 but with only 1 bathroom (but 2 toilets), 4 pax is more comfortable. The huge tv is a bonus. We parked right in front of the house so that’s very convenient.
Certain parts of the house are dusty and there was a hair on the pillow! Communication with property management is BAD. There is barely any response to messages/emails using their “Contact Property” function. When I called their hotline in a desperate attempt to reach them, someone answered and spoke in English: “We don’t speak English. Please write message to us.” I told them I’ve been writing since weeks ago and no one responded and the guy repeated himself again. So I wrote them…and there was no response. This was on the day we were to check in and we were encountering some problems. Good thing we managed to resolve the issue ourselves in the end. "
"The location is top notch! Just few minutes drive brings you Aeon and Sapporo drug store. Apartment was so well maintained, spacious. We had a great stay at this place"
