"It was a beautiful place with a wonderful walk in closet. The breakfast offerings were delicious, especially the cookies by Butter and Champagne Bakery. I would stay again there in a heart beat."

"Very dated, our room was clean, (musty odor) and location to Volcano Park was very close. Breakfast was great and host was very nice. The property really needs to be overhaled, window screens and windows need to be cleaned, new carpet on front steps replaced, mold on the outside of building, a paint job for sure is needed. Pictures on the website really need to be updated.
Make sure you read the fine print about paying a cleaning fee upon check in, We paid and extra $90 + taxes."

"This is a very nice property. I would rate it above the Kona Marriott Courtyard but not quite as nice as The Marriott Hapuna Beach. Would stay here again for sure if the Volcano was erupting. Breakfast was likely the weak link in the stay but still ok. The Staff lady was very nice. "

"We loved our stay at Kehena house! We were greeted by Stephen when we arrived and given a quick tour. They were hosting a Pride potluck that day and he kindly invited us to come eat and join in as guests of the house. Everyone we met was friendly and we felt safe to be ourselves. In the room, there was a list of unique weekly activities and opportunities near by, which made the experience feel even more welcoming.
The property is *amazing*. Might as well be a mini botanical gardens between the...

"Overall really good, the only thing that was a little frustrating was the bathroom and the shower, the water in the shower was either ice cold or burning hot it was impossible to find a middle temperature other than that was great"

"The experience of staying at Kalani Oceanside Retreat was very relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed the yoga class we signed up for very much. The people we encountered, both guests and staff, were great to talk with. The cottage we stayed at had lots of room and we had a fabulous view of the ocean and grounds around us."

"Love this little gem of a place. Have stayed here twice over the past year in two different rooms. The bed could use an upgrade, it was a little too soft and the pillows small. Besides that, it is thoughtfully stocked and wonderful grounds. The views are amazing!"

Volcano is a small town so don't expect all of the comforts of staying in a more developed area. There are several eateries in town; however, they do tend to close early. These is a laundromat, convenience store, and gas station in town.

Volcano village had just enough amenities. Laundromat, a few restaurants, a convenience store and a post office. There's also an art center down the road.

Nice town and nice to not be mainland with so much activity. Good hours but not an all night rager with every luxury of home.

Volcano is a great location for the National Park and for seeing some interesting local stuff.
"We had a wonderful stay at the Volcano Forest Inn. The large room, access to the full kitchen/common area, the quiet location surrounded by the rainforest, and the private deck allowed us to enjoy a relaxing visit. The inn has a great location just outside the national park. We were able to stop at several places before they became busy. There was a good amount of information on the area and a tv with current info on the volcano. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Overall, it was a great visit that I strongly recommend. "
