"I loved staying at this thoughtfully designed and maintained hotel. The pool was perfect on a hot July afternoon (it’s away from the road and surrounded by trees, so it feels very private). I appreciated the little details like a comfortable lodge with coffee bar and some treats waiting for me in my room when I checked in. The gentleman in the office was very helpful with restaurant recommendations too. I ate at the Copper Grouse which was excellent. I will definitely come back here next time...

"Its a motel so expect motel experience. We had a room in the back building that was only two separate rooms which was nice but not sound proof by any means as their ad claims. Shared deck that both rooms exit into one foyer out to deck. Our door out to deck was difficult get locked as it appears a little out of alignment. The bathroom was nice, bed and linens were nice. Overall clean and good for a quick stay. "

"Despite construction immediately outside the hotel, the hotel grounds were well kept. The front desk attendant was polite, kind, and made checking in a wonderful experience. The room was clean and as expected. "

"Very well located and the staff is really friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable. It was peaceful, with a nice outdoor area including a pond and seating. Breakfast was fantastic and packed in a picnic basket so we could easily eat by the pond. Good value. Also, not included, but dinner there was fantastic!"

"The setting is beautiful. The staff were amazing - kind and attentive. Our room was very dated and in need of updating including the bathrooms. The furniture in the room was an odd collection of pieces that could have come from a yard sale. It was not up to the standard we expected given the cost of the room and the overall resort vibe. "

"The Ira Allen House is an authetic traditional vintage house. It is clean & the rooms are comfortable. The owner, Mike is a great host & the breakfast is very good. If your looking for a high end hotel with all the bells & whistles, this is not your place. If you want a historic home rich in history and authentic Vermont, then you will enjoy your stay. We enjoyed our experience!"

Mystic and Reluctant Panther restaurants highly recommended. Silver Fork has to improve its communication to get our custom. Northshire book store really worth visiting.
