"The rooms DO NOT have A/C. They have very small swamp coolers. We couldnt cool off the room at all, 80 plus degrees all day and into tbe evenings. The towels had hair in them. The bed had the smell of a disinfectant! We booked 3 nights, left after the first night. Talked to the manager and explained we needed to leave due to the conditions. He said he understood and would refund my final day but not day 2, I agreed, we just wanted out! My refund hit my bank and it was HALF of what was promised....

"The Topaz Lodge is perched above Topaz Lake with views from all the rooms. The coffee shop which is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner has great views and so does the steak house but check the opening days for this one. The lake is so beautiful, and the rooms are a decent size. This is not a brand-new hotel, so it is showing its age, but the room had a table and chairs, and an armchair, coffee machine, microwave and fridge. What makes it a great hotel, apart from the location, are the staff. They always have a smile on their face and are so friendly and will go out of their way to help you. I want to give a shout out to Feather in housekeeping and to Donna and Monica at the bar. The hotel gives vouchers for a free drink, and $3 off breakfast per person, per day. The hotel has a casino which we enjoyed."
