"The room itself was what we were looking for. Although it was a third-floor walkup, we were able to make it OK. Initial concerns about lack of car parking in the immediate area--as our initial "find" was on a sidewalk--is more related to our unfamiliarity with Portuguese culture than anything else; but they did offer--and we took--a space in a private, gated yard for an additionial 10 Euros."

"We were given clear instructions on how to access the accommodation before our arrival. The apartment is very well located for the sights, restaurants and shopping of central Porto. The apartment itself is clean and very well maintained with a smart bathroom and kitchen area. We only had one night in Porto so didn’t really use the kitchen but I would definitely return for a longer stay. "

"First place I stayed in Porto on a 15-day trip for wedding. This hotel is in a great location close to shopping and some dining, metro stops close. Casa do Musica, Carolinas Michaelis metro stops are within walking distance but cab large luggage, cobblestones and narrow street combined with constant construction reduces the commute. Walking is sometimes difficult between metro stations, this is a good location that allows for access to necessities and bar/food in the hotel. Would have stayed...

"This hotel is exceptional. The staff are amazing and it is beautifully kept. The only thing I would have liked in the suite booked was a bath instead of a walk in shower, but this wouldn’t affect the 10/10 I would give this hotel. Can’t wait to stay here again!"

Book for the port wine lodge tours - we went in April & had to search for availability; (wouldn't bother with Taylor's, who were very unfriendly but Cockburn were very welcoming & informative). Some fabulous food available off the tourist routes

Been to Porto many times and love going back . The train ride from Porto to Regua or Pocinho up the Douro Valley line is a must . Beautiful beaches at Espinho, great resturants and the library Livraria Lello which inspired the library in Harry Potter

Good
Very crowded in August, but still very nice to visit. The cruise was not worth it. We enjoyed a beautiful ride on the city bus 500, along the river to the beaches. The Alegria walk is great. The Serralves museum and its garden are worth visiting.

Porto is a charming smaller city with lots of fun activities to keep busy. The old world charm of a port city like Porto is hard to find. While tourism has taken hold as you can now start to see tip jars around the shops- it is still affordable

Bolhao market is definitely worth a visit and there are few good restaurants on the upper level. The Metro is easy to navigate and the No.1 tram is definitely worth a try. The Majestic Cafe is more hype than quality but is a good experience.

Walkable city, it is a dreamy place perfect in sunshine or rain -i actually thought only Edinburg would be beautiful in gray weather, but Porto has that special allure as well- We visit in February, low season, colder but not a cruel winter.

Wonderful town. Walk a bit out of the main touristy strips and you'll come across great cafes and local restaurants that are much cheaper and just as friendly. Also, learning a few phrases in Portuguese will go a long way with people.

Will definitely go back again! You must try their famous sandwich, francesinha, and the alheira with egg, which is a traditional chicken sausage dish. Don't forget the Porto tonica! Highly suggest a guided walk of the city also.

Porto is a must if you're visiting Portugal. Quite different from the capital city and with a lot of character, local shops, sites to visit and admire. You can get lost in the many streets with amazing architecture and colors.

A visit to the church & museum of Sao Francisco, the gold church is an absolute must. Livraria Lello was not worth the price to go in. They let far too many people in at one time so it was ramed and not an enjoyable experience.
"Good food choices around(I loved the restaurant attached to the hotel)very kind staff, comfy bed, great water pressure, clean room and beautiful view from the roof bar and my room."
"Excellent boutique hotel property with wonderful staff. Good value for money as well. I would definitely stay there again. The only negative I would mention is that cleaning service was often very late in the day, and not always consistent in cleaning (missing amenities, glasses/cups only superficially cleaned, etc.). But overall, excellent experience. "
"Overall Outstanding! We had a river view room which was a little disappointing as the trees in front were overgrown so the view was limited. The road in front can be busy at times when sat on the balcony but you can’t hear it when the door is shut "

"The place was amazing. Excellent spot just on the river, beautiful building an pool area. Only thing that let it down was the service round pool was poor an took ages to get a drink. "
"Amazing property. We were very happy to have found this place to stay, it was kid-friendly and we had a very nice garden view. Customer service was also amazing. Will definitely stay there again when we come to Porto."
"Great location. Ironically the other negative I have was an interaction with another member in the shared laundry. Scolded foe transferring their laundry to the dryer from the washer after 20 min of waiting for that person to return to transfer themselves. Though the setting I placed at no heat and delicate tumble, the american woman scolded me with, "You NEVER move a woman's laundry to the dryer." Other than that, peaceful, pool is cold when the air is hot, great services(cafe, podcast booths, event space, meeting rooms, workspaces, etc). €120/night is not the Old Porto, neither is Porto. If connection is of your interest, this is a great space and located near Campanha station(Bus,Metro,Train). Kitchenette and refrigerator were just enough for two people. "

"Loved our stay at the Editory. The staff were very kind and friendly. They greeted us immediately upon arrival. Our room was perfect. Immaculate property. Was very clean. The location was fantastic as well. We were within walking distance to all the major downtown attractions and had a subway stop right outside the door."
"Had a fantastic stay and the front of house staff were lovely. They answered all questions and spoke very good English as well. Excellent location. Rooms are unique and very clean. Will be back if in Porto! "
"We stayed in the suite on the main floor away from the main hotel which has tall windows and a magnificent view onto the river/Luis bridge, both day and night; the location is unique to staying on Duoro river; its a lively and yet tranquil combination; the roof top bar is recommended; overall great experience!"
