"I loved Ilocos Urban Wave. Great resort and landscaping. Its quite far from San Nicolas RObinson or SM Laoag/ Laoag City, but you can take a tricycle or hire a private van to visit main malls. Overall, the multiple pools and amazing staff at Cafe Onda and overall resort staff were super friendly. I stayed with my family visiting from New York and we absolutely had an amazing time. I recommend it to anyone visiting from USA."
"What an epic place to stay! The grounds are very large with a regal luxurious feeling all around. I got the background that it is owned by the Marcos family and was used to entertain in the 70's and 80's. Breakfast is a nice buffet and generous to guests as well. The casino has since relocated but the history on the property gave me perspective about the country. Highly recommended stay for families or travelers with an interest in Philippines history."
"The tv in unit 106 wasn't working, but it was okay.
Great experience when we used their event area and had them catered.
Enjoyed having breakfast in the courtyard area.
This is the second time we've stayed and it was better than the last time.
Hope see the staff at the palcio de laoag again next year."
"Our stay at the Balay Travelodge in Paoay was great. It was clean and the staff was polite and very helpful.
There are lots of shops and food stalls near by, a market too for clothes!
Thank you for making our stay wonderful! We will be coming back! "
"A very convenient location near the Laoag airport. The hotel staff was very accommodating when we asked for a airport shuttle service at 4:30am.
The staff was also kind and friendly. "
"I want to be fair. this is a budget hotel.
The main issue was the excessive street noise. we checked in and within 10 minutes checked out.
If all you want is a bed with little expectation to sleep then this will work "
"All the staffs are very accommodating and with a friendly smile aside from that helpful if you need some advice on which tourist attractions nearby. The breakfast was great and even the coffee was delicious. The view of the lake and even the hotel property looks expensive. It is definitely 5 star Hotel experience."
"I give this place an overall 5 stars because of their price point. They aren't like other hotels that claim they are a 4 or 5 star then you arrive to find otherwise.
They state they are a 2 star hotel right away. The sheets were clean but threadbare. The mattress was super firm and comfortable. They had an awesome pool that is maximum 5' ish and there is a basic waterslide that was fun for the kids but it is concrete not as safe as North American standard.
The breakfast was good and standard Filipino -log style. Nescafe 3 in 1 for coffee. No coffee in the rooms. Met some nice fellow guests. Has a decent hangout area by the pool.
Just remember I gave them 5 stars because they claim they are a 2 star hotel so my expectations were lower and I was very happy."
"It’s been a while since I stayed in this hotel but I still vividly remember how beautiful my experience there was. The view is incredible and since the hotel is by the beach, you can expect the sight of a vibrant and romantic sunset. The pool was pretty big and they had a clear kayak like those in Boracay which was also fun to get around and take pictures with. The rooms were clean and organized, and the staff were greatly accommodating to our requests. The food was also good, but I suppose one breakfast meal was cooked a bit too salty for my taste. Their other dishes were delicious though. They also have a lot of items in their grocery/pharmacy which is very convenient considering the location is quite far from the city proper. The location, however, is very suitable for people looking for a peaceful getaway and a break from all the noise of the busy areas. And how could I not mention the European-inspired architecture of the whole place? It’s something different from most hotels we’ve gone to in the north and I appreciate this type of aesthetic as well. Overall, I love this place and would love to go back in another trip. <3
