"We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel Goldener Hirsch. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and well appointed, and we all found the beds comfortable. We loved the common areas on the first and second floors-nice places to sit and read while waiting for other members of our party. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel offered a nice selection of foods in what I would call traditional German style. Lastly, the location of the hotel makes it easy to walk to the center of town, the kriminalsmuseum and other key areas. Overall, this was a great place to stay and we would definitely return if coming to Rothenberg in the future."

"We loved our stay at Wildbad, living like princesses in the castle and exploring the grounds. The hotel is in a quiet park in convenient walking distance to the city centre and medieval town. We also enjoyed very much their diner grill buffet, a very healthy option and great ambience, different to the local touristy places. Breakfast was excellent as well, would only recommend to change the plastic tea bags."

"Newly remodeled hotel in an older building in downtown Frickenhausen. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean, and everything looks brand new. Comfortable beds and the A/C works great. Friendly and helpful English-speaking staff, excellent breakfast, and nice beer garden. Free parking is a three-minute walk. We've stayed there twice during the summer of 2025. Would I stay there again? Yes!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Gastof Post! As a family of 5 (2 adults travelling with 3 teenagers) it is not easy to find accommodations where we can all be together, but our room was perfect! While not directly in the walled part of town, it isn’t even 10 minutes walk to get there, and it kept us out of some of the hustle and bustle. There is a lovely restaurant as well attached to the hotel. If you have mobility concerns, it may not be the best option, as there is no elevator, but that fact was well advertised so we knew ahead of time that we would be climbing stairs, and that wasn’t a problem for us. Very clean, HUGE bathroom in room 33. An excellent and affordable option!"

"It was pouring rain when we arrived which was a bit challenging due to some street construction nearby. The staff member offered me an umbrella and even stood in a parking spot right out front for us so I didn't have to! Staff gave us recommendations for dining which we used and enjoyed an incredible meal in a 9th century building. The rooms were outstanding, and touches like having artifacts under plexiglass in the floor was unique. All around fabulous stay. "

"Amazing, atmospheric place. Beautifully laid out to keep the feel of a fortified manor. My only disappointment was the bed. My room had two singles pushed together, which is fairly normal in Germany. However these were two narrow wooden beds, with the frames higher than the mattress. Whilst the style was in keeping with the room, the actual sleeping space was limited, and I kept kicking the frame during the night. Mattress was comfortable though."

"P5 parking lot right outside the Pulverturm (PowderTower) entrance, which is right by the hotel. They also have their own parking, and parking lot in front of hotel. Polizie monitor, so make sure to purchase your parking pass if you drive. Restaurant on premises with good German dishes and Bier/Wine selection. Rooms are quiet and clean."

"I loved how it was right in the village. The staff was so friendly! The room was smaller, but I was alone and it’s all that I needed. The bird was comfortable and TV worked. They even gave me a bottle of water. The windows were new and I was able to open them. It was nice. They had a fan in the room as well. I love the outside patio! I would definitely go back."

"Such a cute hotel out in the country. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were impressed with their kindness at both check in as well as breakfast and checkout. Their breakfast was excellent- fresh scrambled eggs, an amazing selection of breads, fruits, cheeses, meats… our kids loved it! Would definitely stay here again! "

"Didn’t like the check-in process with no staff and available and having to use WhatsApp to communicate. Upon check-in our air conditioning unit was not working during a heat wave. We were told to wait it out. We waited eight hours and it never kicked in. We were offered another room, but it would only be available for a portion of our stay. After several hours we decided to call Expedia to book another hotel. Expedia called the owner of Toploft. The room he previously offered was now available for the duration of our entire trip plus it had functioning AC. At 11 PM we had to pack up our belongings and move across the street to another unit. Extremely inconvenient. If you’re a tourist, this isn’t the property for you because the area is a far distance from main tourist locations. "
