"Hotel Cassendra was a real find. The staff were so lovely and really couldn't do enough to make my stay more pleasant. No question or request was too great or small for them. It is up a steep hill so.wpuld make quite a hike from Kandy but its maybe 300 rupees in a tuk tuk to get up. Very easy to walk down into Kandy however, and it also passes the viewpoint. When you get to the Royal park, there is a lane to the right of it and that ia a handy shortcut into town. It's honesly only a 10min walk. Rooms were lovely, really smart. Breakfast a little limited but it did vary each day and there was something for everyone. Overall it was just great value for money and nice to be set back a little bit off the main drag in Kandy. "

The team preparing our meals was attentive and clearly took pride in their work, creating an exceptional Sri Lankan breakfast that showcased local flavors beautifully. We also enjoyed the dinner option, which was well-prepared and satisfying. Every request we had was met with a smile and genuine willingness to help. Our room was spacious, clean, and had breathtaking views overlooking Kandy — a perfect spot to unwind. The addition of a private hot tub was an unexpected luxury that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The lush gardens surrounding the property made the entire place feel peaceful and inviting. It was the ideal setting to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. We would absolutely recommend Theva Residency to anyone visiting Kandy. "While the property is a lovely looking boutique hotel it lacks one critical thing. A restaurant. I don’t know how I overlooked this fact or I would have simply booked at another property. Not to mention the young man who checked me in acted like he couldn’t find my reservation. Luckily my driver stepped in and assisted. "

"Very neat place to stay, up a cliff overlooking the river and large Buddha up in the hills. We had a family suite with two large bathrooms, two bedrooms, two balconies and incredible view. Infinity pool perched on the edge of the property, very cool! Incredible service and excellent food. Up a very steep switchback road, not easy to get there and not easy to get back down from!"
