This was the perfect place for us to stay as it was exactly halfway between Santander and the house we're renovating in the area. "The posada was a comfortable place offering a good breakfast. The location was ideal for us exploring Cantabria. The staff were helpful and friendly, and via Google Translate, we were given good recommendations (and help with booking) on places to eat, places to visit/walks etc.
As it’s name implies, it is set in a small village, so having a car is ideal, although the train station is just opposite.

"The only thing is that due to its location the parking is complicated and smelly, we just left the car in there to the last day. The breakfast buffet was just good, but they don’t clean the used tables, so we moved the dirty dishes ti another table to be able to seat where we want, and you need to ask for juice etc; the staff were good and nice, but what happen is that there’re only two workers; they moved fast and wanted to help everyone but there were much of guest for only two staff. On the other hand Marea Alta has great menu and the staff was very professional and friendly; the paella was exquisite, I recommend it. "
