"The beds are quite comfortable despite looking old and simple. Only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet but we make do with it for 5 people. It's spacious enough for 5 persons. Hotel facilities are good enough for us for 2 nights."
"The hotel was great and had your own parking, but not walking distance from anything; however very close driving distance to tourist spots. Location of the hotel is right next to the expressway entrance to either go to Oita or Yufuin, your like in the middle. Overall excellent hotel!! "
"Newly renovated Kumamon room made will make you smile. There are many photo opportunities with Kumamon in the property. Breakfast buffet is highly recommended. "
"I give this property 5 stars for staff because they were amazing. From the front desk staff, to the waiters, to the food servers to the maids - everyone was so nice and helpful and smiling. The room was stunning. Classic Japanese tatami mat room but with western toilet and deep soaking tub. We had ocean view. STUNNING! You should stay here.
I need to say - that while I know the hotel is older, and there's charm in that - this hotel needs a deep clean. The closet and vents were dusty and the bathroom had some mold. It's a very humid place, so that's difficult to keep clean - but just a little more bleach a poll nd this is a 5-Star resort. I would stay there again the food was outrageously wonderful and plentiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay"
"Hotel was lovely.
Room very large, definitely a Western feel but with some Japanese features (eg sliding doors separating living compartments). As with most Japanese hotels it has no cupboards!
Large lounge for heating/eating food which was great and cheap washing facilities too.
Location excellent, good base for visiting the area, although a car is an essential."
"The rooms are very spacious and has all the amenities needed. The private onsen is amazing. We booked half board and was very thankful that they were willing to accommodate our vegetarian diet. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. "
"Hotel is fine ( very good for 2 stars ). They have private Onsens, which is great. Resturant staff were amazing in catering a vegetarian meal(s) for my wife. "
"The two of us enjoyed a very pleasant stay and slept comfortably on the Japanese futons. The facility is in good condition and has a wonderful public bath to wash off the stress of the day. Free hot refreshments are available anny time and the breakfast was excellent. Many nice restaurants are a short walk away. Wish I could have stayed longer."
"The staff were exceptional. There was an issue with my room and they exceeded my expectations by rectifying the issue with incredible care and gratitude. I was truly amazed by the hospitality. Thank you very much."
"Beautiful, modern, very tastefully decorated property. The front desk attendee was very hospitable, a warm welcome to our first time in Yufuin!
Gems is a minute walk from the station / bus stop, and is located centrally to Yufuin town. The walk to Kinrin lake was beautiful, with views of the mountain on the street.
The room we booked was incredibly spacious, and although designed for 4, did not feel too empty for 2. The bathroom is so well done and so clean, with a huge bath tub that just invites a private soak.
We would stay again next time! "
"I stayed at the Myajima branch of the Grandvrio Hotel. It's very much catered to Japanese guests, and once again, I was the only European, but I don’t mind. There's plenty of room space and lots of amenities. Dinner is always nice, and breakfast is just as good. I really like the Grandvrio Hotel chain."
