Salvadonica - Borgo del Chianti
10/10 Excellent
"This stay exceeded my expectations! A beautiful location, great food with an excellent breakfast included, and tons of well-planned experiences for the guests. This stay was one of my favorites out of my entire trip"
"Clean pool, everything within easy reach, beautiful rooms, lovely staff, my only concern was the lack of a kettle in the room- this was managable but I'd say a kettle is more universal that an espresso maker. Take bug bite spray though- the bugs ate me alive due to being in the hills, but still one of the best places with everything being near. The little road train was fabulous! Its made me want to book another break with Hu! "
"Wonderful place to stay to soak in the views of Tuscany. The pool area with views are gorgeous. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were clean, property was quiet. There are a lot of dining options a 10 min drive away in the town of San Casciano. You definately need a car here.
Absoltuely wonderful stay, the highlight of my trip!"
"It’s hard to know where to begin when describing this property, but I guess I have to start somewhere. This is quite possibly the most beautiful property I’ve ever had the pleasure to visit. The grounds are exceptionally gorgeous. The food is mind-blowingly excellent. The wine superb. The service incredible. We had the best time at our cooking class as we were grouped with 8 strangers who became friends by the end of the evening. The pool is enchanting, the room was huge and impeccably appointed. Wow. Wow. Wow. I will miss my time at Torre A Cona!"
"Beautiful, picturesque, elegant charm, romantic but also good for families. The hotel was modern but still charming. Rooms were spacious, service was wonderful and the restaurant has been one of the best! Dinner was incredible- everything on the menu. Specifically, the wild boar stew, truffle gnocchi and the Osso Bucco. Pool was perfect and again the views!!!"
Castello di Spaltenna- Small Luxury Hotels of the World
10/10 Excellent
"An utterly enchanting escape nestled within the Tuscan hills, Castello di Spaltenna perfectly blends centuries-old charm with modern elegance. The spa and both indoor and outdoor pools are wonderfully indulgent, complemented by serene views across vineyards and olive groves. The Michelin-starred restaurant, Il Pievano, delivers exceptional cuisine under romantic candlelight, while attentive and warm-hearted service adds to every moment.
Each room feels genuinely Tuscan—stone walls, beamed ceilings, cozy fireplaces—all paired with contemporary comforts. Mornings on the breakfast terrace offer breathtaking panoramas that awaken the senses, and the immaculate grounds invite long, relaxing strolls. A magical, unforgettable retreat—we can’t wait to return."
"Amazing, affordable camping site! I stayed in a GlampingTent as a solo traveller, for 2wks, higher up the hill, away from the highway noise! I experienced a super peaceful and relaxing holiday! No noise from neighbours either! You can sit on your terrace at night listening to the crickets, its that calm! Tents super clean, terrific bathroom & double bed! Aircon (and heater)! Substantial amount of sun loungers and parasols always available, even when busy in the midst of August! Great pool area and music for kids/families! Although there are equally, quieter areas, nestled under the trees, for solo travellers and couples, seeking peace, at an area furthest from the pool! A shuttle takes you into town every hour from the site and collects to return, every hour, in town! It is just a 15 minute drive away (€2.50). From there you can sightsee Florence, visit museums/architectures/history, shop, eat, catch a train or/and take a Hop On Bus tour around Flourence! This is a perfectly located rural site, yet near the city! There is a well stocked supermarket and a great bar/restaurant on location too! All the staff were friendly and happy to help! A massive shout out to Gianluca & Arthur on reception, who were both extremely helpful! Always happily assisting with every request! These guys go way beyond the call of duty, so tangible recognition in terms of a pay rise for these two guys please! 🙏 Ultimately, a terrific holiday experience will be had here, so just go book it!! 😊"
