I had quite high hopes for here as the photos suggest a certain feel and quality. For £154 for the night, that's what I was expecting.
Check-in was smooth, staff were polite and friendly. We were accommodated in the restaurant despite our late arrival. Food wasn't anything special but very expensive for what it was: £93 for fish and chips, lamb shank, 2 dishes of 3 ice cream scoops, pint of Pepsi, pint and half of Amstel.
The room looked nicely decorated however it clearly hadn't been cleaned properly in a while. Cobwebs near the tea making facility and on the radiator. Dust on most surfaces including copper bath, bedside table and lamps. You'd be anaphylactic if you had a dust allergy. The bin hadn't been emptied from the previous guests. A fan was supplied as none of the windows open, making the room very stuffy in the recent hot weather. The bathroom taps had areas of black grime/mould - in the pic. The shower heads hadn't been cleaned in a long time with evidence of orange mildew and limescale; black mould in the shower tray/grout/seals. Some wall fixings in the bathroom also coming away from the wall. The bed was comfortable at least but didn't dare check the cleanliness under the sheets after our sleep. Unfortunately all the above was noticed on the morning we were leaving.
Was £247 for the above worth it? Definitely not. Even when I used my accrued £67 OneKeyCash rewards to lower the room price, I'd still say I felt ripped off.
