Ben hicks

We had a cosy 1 night stay at The Loch Ness Guest House. Our room was comfortable, it’s close to local restaurants and amenities and a complimentary continental breakfast was provided. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Good value in great location

Great guest house in ideal location for exploring the area. Only comment is that finishing breakfast at 9.00 on a Sunday is a bit early....!

Where Is Everybody?

Somewhat disappointing. No one was there to check us in of inquire about our needs. Kind of eerie to stay at a hotel and not see anybody else (employees or guests) during our stay. Plus there was no Highland Cattle plush in our room as their web-site pictures suggest. Otherwise, a comfortable room that was clean and well-maintained.

Great stay

Extremely clean and well organized We did not receive an email regarding check in procedures, but the phone number provided at the front door connected us to someone who immediately informed us of all the details we needed. Really liked the self serve continental breakfast but would have appreciated some fresh fruit. Would definitely stay here again

6/10 Okay

Room didn’t quite match the expectation from the hotel listing. Very small room and small bed. Wished I had booked a better hotel for our stay in Loch Ness. Price wasn’t worth the stay. The walls are very thin. They did try to make the most out of the small space but I still felt mislead. You will not get a free stuffed cow

I didn’t have anything to dislike. Great experience, staff, facility, breakfast & location!! I’ll come back for sure.
Suzanne, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

Pros: sheets and towels were clean. instructions for getting checked in /out were easy to follow, and common area appeared comfortable. Cons: bathroom sink had toothpaste in the basin, shower floor had hair on it, floors were dirty with debris and corners of floor had lots of dirt and dust gathered there, walls had stains and scuffs in the paint, bed was hard, wobbly, and loud when you sat down. Some of the lamps didn’t work (had to move a different lamp to the bedside table. Walls are paper thin and I could hear the neighbor upstairs snoring all night. Parking was horrible (lot way too small). Breakfast offerings very basic.
Mandy, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Property was lovely but the bed is very hard. Needs a new mattress or a Mattress Topper. It’s a very small room but was okay just for 1 night. Wouldn’t recommend any longer. Very noisy when other guests are going to and from there rooms. Expedia said there is a lift. No lift stairs only to get up top.
Timothy, 1-night trip

Lovely guest house in convenient location

Overall very good experience and would recommend. Lovely large premises, warm rooms ensuite and complimentary continental breakfast, which was appreciated. Check in and out times were not as advertised on hotels.com. We marked low in cleanliness as the bathroom blind was moldy and we couldn't get the window to stay open in bathroom resulting in getting whacked with moldy blind repeatedly. Would still recommend overall.
Caitriona, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Everything about this property was great with 2 exceptions. If you are looking for a comfortable bed after a long day of travel/sightseeing, this would not be the place. I am not a picky person but our bed was hard as a rock and I woke up with an aching shoulder and back. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location but this establishment would do well to get some new mattresses if anything, for the comfort of their tired guests. The second issue was the parking. They have a parking lot, yes but after arriving late one evening, we were forced to park in a handicap spot because there was nothing else available. Shower pressure is fantastic and the backyard view of the mountains is beautiful.
