We had an overnight stay after a week at sea. We wish we stayed longer! The dinner was amazing with top notch service. The beachfront room was beautiful and the poolside bar was a nice touch. Wonderful property and amenities!

The Ellysian was a fantastic stay for our family of 4. It is a great location - beachfront and a nice enough deep pool. The staff are exceptional - super friendly and helpful. They really stood out as soooooo nice! The location is great - walk to everything. The room was also very clean and appointed well with plenty of towels, fridge, microwave... even though we brought our own toiletries, my kids loved the hotels shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The restaurant is also quite good. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Paradise in Placencia!

Absolutely lovely spot in the village within walking distance of everything. Gorgeous pool and beach. Exceptional staff. Rooms are posh for sure. Ask for first or second floor as there isn't an elevator but strong folks took care of luggage! Definitely coming back.

Fantastic stay

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay. The property is in a great location. Close to many other restaurants, stores and boutiques. Easy to walk around and explore. Jacqueline and Shinellie at reception were great at handling any issues also Venessa and Justin were very friendly awesome servers at the pool bar. Resort is very clean and the view from the Muna rooftop restaurant was second to none.

It was a very good location. The hotel was quiet and the food was good. The housekeeping was very poor and had to beg to get creamers for my coffee in the morning. The hotel staff really didn't like cleaning the rooms. The equipment for water activities was broken.

Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and so comfortable. Everything sparkled. The staff were so kind and always making sure we had everything we needed. I had the best massage from the highest point in Placencia! The restaurant and pool bar staff were fun and took great care of us. This is my absolute favorite place in Placencia.

Fabulous seaside local in the middle of the city.

We had a wonderful time at this new Boutique Hotel. The linens and bedding were the best! The staff, Aretha and Clara were very accommodating and friendly. They also appreciated our suggestions for this new hotel. Located right on the sidewalk to everywhere in Placencia Town and right on the beach, a more perfect location could not be found. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

The Staff is AMAZING!!

The Ellysian Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The location is perfect for staying in the heart of Placencia Village. Facilities are very well maintained and the most eco-friendly place I've stayed at. The restaurant on the top of the building is a MUST. The food is amazing and the views spectacular. The staff was truly amazing. They greeted us by name, left lovely notes in our room in the evening and genuinely went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. This is a 5 star boutique hotel with a 10 star staff. We hope to be back soon!

This has been my favorite stay of all time (and I've stayed in countless properties.) This is 5 star service all around. First, their bartender, Vanessa, makes the best mojitos and the welcome drinks are amazing. Second, the entire front desk staff is top notch. Both with making sure we had everything we needed, managing reservations, and the amazingly personalized notes sent during turn down on a tray with a candle... I am just in awe at how many details and amenities we had during our stay. The room had everything we could ever need and the ocean view was amazing. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job at keeping the room spotless. Everyone and everything was just amazing.

As ive seen in other reviews, very nice people here. However, the speed of service both at the resutaurant and regarding room cleaning and laundry services are quite slow. We came in summer, slower season. But it took an hour or more for each meal and our laundry took over 12 hours when they had said it would be done by the time we returned that day from an excursion leaving ys without clean laundry at night. Dinner at Muna had only 3 tables yer it took over an hour for our food to come out. 3 employees talked in front of house while we sat for hour straight and then food came out overcooked and it was frustratijng. In the end, the food tassted good but it was 2 hours by the time we left. I would recommend others to go there, as it's one of the nicest places in the area but be prepared to spend some time waiting on services. Our experience may not be the norm.

This is a clean hotel with some upscale amenities. Although the staff was friendly and accommodating. I was very disappointed in our transportation arrangements and poor communication. During our booking, the representative stated they were official booking agents for mya air and would arrange for our transportation from the international airport to the hotel. I provided my international flight information and my travel companion‘s name and the time of our arrival we were told there would be an additional charge which was agreeable. At no time was I made aware that we would not be flying and rather we would be charged $430 for a three hour car ride from the airport to the hotel. We spent about an hour at the Mayan air counter, trying to find our reservation and then another 20 minutes trying to contact the hotel. Additionally, we did not receive any of our VIP upgrades on booking through Expedia as expected. The rooms are not equipped with coffee makers. There’s no coffee in the lobby and the restaurant was not open during our stay. This makes it very difficult if you have any excursions planned and are leaving early.
