The check in process was terrible. I had paid and booked online through Hotels.com. I rang the bell and a man came and motioned me to the night window. (It was around 10:00 pm) Not only could I not hear him through the glass, there was also a language barrier and he was very condescending toward me. He asked for my credit card and I explained I had already paid so he proceeded to tell me if I tore anything up in the room it would cost me not him and Hotels.com wouldn’t pay for damages. He asked me twice if I had a dog. I did not — just a husband. We are in our fifties, were there for a funeral and don’t go around trashing hotels. He provided poor customer service and was just simply rude. The motel is old and dated but appeared to be fairly clean. The basics were in the room such as soap, towels, toilet paper, hair dryer, microwave, fridge and a coffee maker; however, the coffee maker still had the last customer’s old coffee still in the strainer. The shower didn’t work because the fixture was loose on the wall and the wall behind it was rotten.
