A Norfolk gem - perfect for special needs

Fantastic quality - Both in service and accommodation standards. A hidden gem on the Norfolk Broads. The accommodation was just what our family of 7 were looking for and so that was the primary reason for booking here for our first visit. However, it was the outstanding friendliness, service and flexibility that completely blew us away and we are already planning returning visits. 5 of our children have have special needs and are neurodiverse. So traveling is difficult when it’s a new place and sometimes we do run into difficulties when people first encounter them. However the staff were so accommodating, understanding and friendly and our children were comfortable in the space and had a wonderful time. Breakfast was tailored to our family also - again, normally very difficult to find food our autistic children will try but it was such a hit that our son asked for a second helping on our last morning and it was kindly given. The site was a winter wonderland and beautifully laid out - our lodge was built to such a high standard and heating easily controlled in each room. Everything needed was already in our lodge including a beautiful Christmas tree which made the children very happy. The only downside was leaving! We didn’t want to leave. Preparing to book again for both our summer and winter trips to Norfolk next year. Thank you a million times over for a wonderful stay.

"The boathouse is such a lovely and peaceful place, away from the hustle and bustle of the busier seaside resorts. It offers the best of both worlds. Despite being a popular venue for weddings, the music was kept at a low volume and we couldn't hear anything from room 6, so we had a really good night's sleep. My two children had a blast at the little play park, and the breakfast was absolutely delightful. The room rates were reasonable, and our overall experience was just lovely. Thank you!"

The hotel looks onto a large lake with fantastic views. No traffic noise, plenty of parking. Great bar and restaurant. Rooms are well decorated and cozy with lake views.
