Sturgis vacation

Nothing to live in but for a few nights it was good for the price could use some cleaning up around back at the creek for a little walk but a lot of people never new there was a creek back there ha ha

Parking was tight, but I loved that they had assigned parking spaces!! Do not go here with anything bigger than a suburban.

4/10 Fair

Staff was very nice- mouse in breakfast room- Bathtub cracked- towels were so worn they were dingy dingy brown white towels- lack of towels had to return and count to get so called clean ones- television only had 4 channels- flooring cracked and metal rusted- not a great place

I got in earlier than expected so I was able to check in an hour early. The breakfast was great and it’s near everything. We all forgot the card key to get in and the manager was so nice enough to walk there and unlock it for us! Would definitely stay here again!

I like retro motels and this one was perfect for me for one night. It’s old, furniture is a bit wobbly, but bed was comfortable and everything was clean and maintained. Park directly by room door. Porch with a comfy chair. The man on staff got me late access to part of the breakfast menu and a late checkout. I’d stay there again

Disappointed

Run down, bed worn to too soft, tv had 2 channels that were abc and twc. All others were scrambled or not there. Temp in 40s outside, had only floor space heater. Cabin didn’t seem to be insulated enough.
Randy, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

We were given a room and when we opened the door the room was dirty. Bed unmade from the person before us and garbage stacked on the table. The front desk was able to quickly assign us a new room, but we had to kill 3 wasps, several kissing bugs and several flies. Floors were stained and dead bugs on the table and the floor. We attempted to find a new place stay, but with the busy weekend we had no choice. We checked out around 2:45 am as there were more bugs crawling on the headboard.

Very nice for an older building

The staff was so nice and helpful. He showed me where my room was. I was skeptical at first because it’s an older building and the parking lot is crowded. But the room was clean and comfortable. I didn’t hear my neighbors at all. My only problem was that there was no USB charging port and I didn’t have any adapter with me so I had to charge my phone in my car. But for the price and due to the busy Labor Day weekend, it was worth the money.

Great place to stay on a road trip. Owners/managers were super kind.

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED

Very pleasantly surprised with our room. Front desk very welcoming, room was clean and comfortable. Location was close to everything.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Our room was in the back “cottage” and was unique in that it was a split level. Had a bed down with a table, mini fridge on a table, 2 chairs, and a tv. Up a couple stairs there was another bed and the bathroom. The floors were dirty (noticed when we cleaned up some water we spilled) no light in the upper sleeping area. Breakfast was provided with eggs, sausage, cold cereals, etc

Great place

For a hotel open only in the summer it was great!! It was a last minute booking on 4th of july. Our room was clean, quiet and the staff was very nice. Walking distance to main with all the stores and activities. I will definitely stay here again.

Great staff! Helpful and accessible. Walked to downtown Keystone for shopping / dining (just a couple blocks). Older hotel but nice.

Cute Cottages Nestled in the Mountains

The Brookside Motel felt more like staying in a cute little cottage or cabin rather than in a motel. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the Motel seems to attract other friendly tourist. We striked up multiple conversations with people at this motel and got along with everyone. Very close to Mount Rushmore and other attractions in Keystone.
1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Terrible

I made a reservation for a queen bed. Room was supposed to have tv-didn’t work, no hair dryer, no coffee maker, no alarm clock. Bed was old full size. Drapes couldn’t be closed adequately lights didn’t work except over sink. Carpet was so dirty I wouldn’t put my feet or anything else down on it. Shower pressure was non existent. I was scared.
