Great stay at an independent & more personal hotel

We really enjoyed staying at this family-run hotel. Kayla was THE friendliest receptionist ever and gave us tips to best enjoy the local area, affordably! She's clearly proud of what they've achieved as a family with the recent refurb, and rightly so. It makes a refreshing change to interact with the owners rather than staying in a hotel chain. The room itself had all we needed to crash comfortably for a couple of nights as part of a road trip through California. It's walking distance to the beach (although it was pretty windy the one day that we had to explore that part of Oceano!). Would happily stay again if ever passing through

I love this place. It’s clean and comfortable. And the staff are friendly and inviting. They even give you a s’mores care package so you can build a bonfire on the beach. I thought that was the cherry on top.

Clean beach type hotel

The property looks newly renovated and is very clean and without wear inside the rooms. The front desk was professional and efficient in getting us checked in. The a/c blew really cold on the bed next to it and there wasnt a blanket just sheets and a duvee. The room could also use a second waste bin although there was a larger waste recepticle in the walk way. Its about a 5 min drive to downtown Pismo Beach and about a 15 min walk to the Oceano beach. There is a market next door which is very convenient as well. If your main goal is to spend the day at the beach you can't beat this for the price and location.

The new renovations were a bonus - and a very comfortable bed. Rude guests making noise with their children and a party truck at 11pm ruined the calm and quiet accommodations - but this wasn't the fault of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful upon check in. I would encourage travelers to consider the Dune Surfer Inn if they are in the area.
