The property made for a delightful overnight stop between the Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton. After the chilly adventure of exploring the caves, relaxing in the hot springs and enjoying a hearty meal at the tavern was the perfect way to end the day. I highly recommend staying here, and I’ll definitely return if I’m ever in the area again.

This is a very rustic property with lots of character. I didn't partake, but was told the included breakfast was very good (apparently the chef is a pastry chef) the room was comfy, and the area was serene. If you stay here you have access to the natural hot pools 24/7. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 days and it was nicely convenient to a lot of places. (We went to Hobbiton and Waitomo glow worm caves). Matamata is convenient with other dining options, but the food at the hotel was very good. Very happy with our stay.

This was such a fantastic spot to stay for a few nights, the grounds are immaculate, the hot springs incredible, the buildings are full of charm and character. We could have easily spent longer here, and to top it off the food was amazing!

Stayed in one of the chalets. It was spacious with air-conditioning which was great. The bed was very good and the overall experience was very good. The bathroom could use a bit of upgrading as the towel rail was missing, no towel hooks and there was a lack of shelf space . Not a big deal really forca 3 star hotel.
