Hotel next to the station

The Hotel is located opposite the station. It is an old building which has been renovated and as you would expect the floorboards are a bit creaky so it can be a bit noisy. Would have liked a hairdryer in the bedroom and an egg for breakfast.

This is a nice enough hotel right at the railway station and an easy walk into shopping and eating areas in the town. I stayed for four nights. The following are observations more than complaints.
This is an old building and the floor in my room sloped quite a lot which was a bit disconcerting first thing in the morning. There was a little fold-up desk in the room but only a backless stool to sit on at the desk. I wanted to be able to sit and write and there is no lounge at this hotel so I would have preferred a chair with a back. Not a big deal. With the desk up, you cannot close the curtains unless you drape them over the desk. As with almost every small hotel I've stayed at in Mexico, this hotel does not want you to put toilet paper down the toilet. A small garbage can was provided. Nasty. The shower cubicle worked well but had no shelf for soap etc and no place on floor for it either. This is just silly. There was nothing hot available for breakfast (unless you consider fresh toast as a hot food), but otherwise it was ok.

The elevator made me think I was back in 1972 Europe studying again. Those small elevators worked then, and they work now. The hotel has been renovated, so it is comfortable. Located beside the train station, it is a 10-minute walk across the amazing bridge to the other side of the city where most restaurants and shopping are. It's quaint, the staff is helpful. I liked it.

Très pratique pour visiter Bayonne et le Pays Basque et meme jusqu'à San Sebastian l'aller retour dans la journée est largement faisable. Un peu cher par contre... Et on entend marcher les personnes de la chambre du dessus c'est assez genant mais dans l'ensemble c'était bien.
