The owner ran a couple of businesses - a gas station, a grocery store, a hardware store, a motel, a food truck, and a laundromat with showers. Therefore, we checked in at the grocery store.
The room was clean. The bed was comfortable for a good night sleep. We asked for a quiet room and got one behind the store building. It did shield out lots of highway noise. We took a walk after dinner in the nice neighborhood.

This is a very basic hotel off of the main road through town. The biggest draw is the location --- Big Pine being a gateway to many outdoor hiking areas. The shower was warm, the sheets and towels clean. That's all we needed tonight.

A nice quick stop for gas and overnight rest just before you back on the road. Not a luxurious place to stay but good enought to stop and get some sleep.

The primary business here is a gas station convenience store. The hotel is definately an after thought. People seemed nice enough but the room was in desperate need of paint, the power lights, tv etc. Flickered all night and even went dark once.
Evening shower was fine, morning shower ran out of hot water a minute in. The a/c worked fine though. And the original room they gave me was out back next to the laundry and maintenance room. Nothing bad as far as people go, but the hotel here is not good.

Checking in was easy and it was nice to have the gas station, general store, and food options in a walkable distance. The neigborhood was cute and quaint during our evening walks with our pup.
