Not worth it

Outdated, bad food and not very nice. The terrace had a nice view but that was it. The hot tub area was depressing (no good view, didn’t feel much like a spa was basically a long swimming pool with jets) the deckchairs were uncomfortable. The long white dim corridors felt a little sad. For a 5 star spa hotel we expected much more. We ended up checking out early because it wasn’t for us. Far away from anything so be mindful there’s not much to do at the hotel. The spa treatments also were expensive for what they were. A shame really!

Really lovely infinity pool and view which is the most special part of the hotel. Mediocre food, okay ambiance that could be improved. Location is okay but far from all the wineries. Good price for a suite.

This hotel sits on the river, and every room has a perfect river view. The dinner menu and service was really good especially since there are limited food options in the area. Hotel offers a beautiful infinity pool that overlooks the river, but a bit too cold for me. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel was a lovely part our visit to the Douro Valley. The hotel is right on the river. Note that the river is clean and warm enough for swimming during the summer if you are so inclined. There are restaurants that are OK near by. There are many wineries to visit, including Aneto Wines, which is highly recommended: www.anetowines.pt. The pool is a lovely part of visiting this hotel and includes a sweeping view of the river and valley.

Grand property with spectacular views. Modern design. Free garage parking. Spa didn’t meet expectations, but otherwise facilities are great for a relaxing trip to the wine country. Be prepared to navigate twisty roads to get there and move around the wine country. A lot of fun if you enjoy spirited driving.

Nice Hotel but not 5 stars….. only 5 star room was the suite but price per night is quite expensive for what you get. Pool is great and the view! Balcony/patio nice in the suite…. But the double deluxe room does not have balcony and the double deluxe premium room has a patio but big wall at the end and you can’t see the view, best to go for a normal double room with good view or a suite. Breakfast was a good big variety! Reception staff very good and helpful! Decoration for birthday in the room was lovely!

Booked a stay for me and my wife as a routine escape and i didn't regret it. The most exquisite views and surroundings. The Staff were impecable. The only finger pointing I will do is some lack of maintenace. From almost broken doorknobs, elevator panels almost coming off, fissures on the walls and a hole outside on the floor at the outdoor pool leaves a sour taste to it, as it is a 5 star hotel. Nonetheless a great experience. Just be advised, the means of transport in the area are really scarse, and if you wish to have a nearby local dining experience you will be disappointed, as there are no nearby restaurants or even shops/supermarkets. Either you dine at the restaurant hotel, which you need previous reservation (1 Day prior) or you ask for room service, which is equally good. The bar offers lights meals as well. Also don't forget any type of necessaire, no shops or supermarkets in the area.

Conflicted Views:

Positives: Stunning views, excellent pool/area, spa. Spacious suite, vg bathroom, comfy bed. Staff - courteous, helpful and professional. Negatives: Decor - soulless/minimalistic. Restaurant/Ruby Bar - Lacking atmosphere. Food hit/miss, charcuterie boards 👌 Whole layout generally gave a sterile, isolated feeling. Would probably need a car to get the best from this location. Summary: Hotel doesn't really make the most of it's location, could do with the services of an interior designer to give it a more welcoming feeling, better ambience and create nicer seating areas and more aesthetically pleasing pool area.Could also provide, a customer service/concierge facilitating tours/activities directly from the hotel with third parties, a courtesy courier service to nearby train stations/villages. A good place to chill out after a day touring but it's difficult to get past the sterile, soulless atmosphere.

O meio envolvente é muito bonito. Contudo, à exceção da menina Raquel que estava na receção os outros funcionários pareciam não estar felizes no local de trabalho. Para um hotel de 5 estrelas o pequeno-almoço deveria ser mais variado. Aquando do pedido para que o café fosse cheio o colega a quem foi pedido respondeu: “ Não foi isso que me pediram!”. Menos é mais e existem hotéis de 4 estrelas que merecem 5.
