Early flight overnight stay

OK for catching some sleep before an early flight, don't recommend for longer stays. Rooms are in old office facilities and rather rough looking. Bed linen were stained and shared washroom/toilet facilities were not well kept, e.g. lacking hand soap and the hand towel dispenser was empty.

3rd stay at Forenom Hostel Vantaa Airport. It is a very good hostel. Yes the single room is small but the room and bedding were clean, as were the showers and toilets. It’s a 10 minute walk from the airport. Well lit main roads so felt safe walking from my late night arrival and back to my early morning departure. Key code arrived before checkin time via email and text. Entry keypad for building has been moved from the side wall to the centre of the front door so can’t miss it now. For the price I paid, this is value for money accommodation and I’ll stay here again.

Budget hotel stay near airport for a few hours

This was a budget stay just for a few hours sleep before a flight, everything was adequate except for bed cleanliness - I found a few hairs wrapped up in the duvet which made me doubt if it had been cleaned at all. That was really off putting. Otherwise only 15 minutes walk to the airport, bring earplugs as you can hear your neighbours along with an eye mask as there are only blinds that do not block out all light, there is a trip hazard at the entrance that I fell over which seems to be a large bolt screw sticking up, there was a coffee maker and fridge in the room along with a TV and the bed was comfortable. But a clean bed is the most important thing and I'm not sure it was. Personally wouldn't feel safe being here alone, communication was only via phone, no reception.

Realistic review

tldr; not clean but acceptable if you don't care Full review: 3rd party bookers don't send all info so we had to call to get our room code. "Only a 15 minute walk from the airport" but the way to go is not clear &miserable in the snow with luggage so you will most likely take a taxi. all the taxis have a 19€ minimum. Which made it the same cost as the holiday inn with free shuttle. Upon arrival there were 4 boxes with keypads but only 1 of them is functional and instructions not clear (use a #). This was stressful at 1am but resolved quickly. It's an old office building, but i don't mind- reduce and reuse. i was plenty warm in January. 2 twin beds so my husband &i had to sleep separately-whatever. My problem: the beds were disgusting. Logically, I know I've slept in much worse in college but ew. you make the bed yourself which just highlights all the gross stains. Brown mattress with what looked like a blood stain, dingy white/brown pillow and duvet. The linens looked cleaned at first but when i opened them up they were also stained and had hairs on them! No kidding there were small black curly hairs on my "clean" duvet cover. My husband couldn't care less so he had no problem, but i was about to call a cab (no refund policy) when he reminded me we had new linens in our luggage from a gift. In the night the bathroom was gross but i caught them just after cleaning in the morning. I survived. He was content. But was it worth saving 50$?

No key code received to enter the hostel and room.

The big problem was I did not get the access key code to enter the building and my room. It was not clear if Hotels.com or Forenom Hostel was responsible to send me the key. I had to call to get a key, and it eventually came from Hotels.com. PLEASE do better with this problem, and solve it.

nødovernatning

Ankom til Helsinki meget sent og skulle bare have en overnatning. Langt at gå fra lufthavnsterminalen, med en bagagevogn. Men det er noget usselt; belysningvar neonrør i loftet. et TV der ikke duede, et køleskab som stod og brummede hele natten, gardiner som ikke sluttede tæt. Toilet og bad på gangen var ok.

Was promised an email containing instructions on how to access my room by 1600 on arrival day. I did not get this email even after 1700 on arrival day. I had to resubmit identity verification through an older email and then was given access, even though I'd already completed that verification.

Kirjautuminen sujui hyvin mutta huoneen lukko jumittui niin etten päässyt huoneesta ulos! Pitkän räpeltämisen jälkeen sain oven auki ja minut vaihdettiin toiseen huoneeseen. Vaihto sujui hyvin.
