We had a lovely time. Staff was polite, always smiling and welcoming. The rooms were clean, beautiful decorated and comfortable. The location was perfect. Service was consistently excellent with outstanding hospitality. Staff could not do enough and was hard working. Will definitely come back.

We arrived on the 29th Aug 2025 and it was raining all 4 days we were there with occasional sun due to the anti cyclone. Staff are very friendly and hospitable and even checking in with us to make sure our stay is good. Everywhere is clean and not a single rubbish to be found. There are daily activities to participate in and gym that is big and clean. The only issue I had was the hot water. It was not working in the afternoon and evening which is when I really wanted to shower after a whole day of activities and travelling. Which didn’t get resolve on the first day and was only solved after a few long while after informing them about it. The breakfast buffet is nice for the first day then it gets boring the longer you stay. It was heavy on carbs and less proteins. Overall I had a pleasant stay and would like to stay again in October when the weather is better.

Good Service!

Pleasant hotel with excellent service. We have no complaints about the room, it was big and the bed was big and comfy. Private beach and the pool were beautiful. We as a couple didn't like the buffet style dinner so much, even though the food was good, the dessert was a disappointment.

The staff were generally very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast staff were a little undirected in continually asking me for my room number when I had given it before sitting down and then allocated a table? I particularly recommend Khushboo who is a credit to Solana, pleasant and smiling but she is efficient and covers for some of her teammates. Don’t want to dwell on negatives but there were tiny ants around the fridge bar that made their way to my laptop, all the towels smell of acetic acid or similar and the shower leaks onto the floor very badly.

The welcoming team upon arrival (especially Lusna already started my overall positive experience at this hotel. The receptionists were not only friendly but also chatty and funny (which I personally like!). They kept my luggage till my room was ready. Meanwhile I explored the grounds of this nicely landscaped property with lots of blossoming flowers, wide paths, various hotel buildings, the pool and the beach area. Everything is well maintained, tidy and clean. I absolutely loved my room on the ground floor with a small terrace and only 8-10 meters away from the sea! The morning viewswere fantastic! The room was equipped with a kettle with complimentary coffee/tea, a fridge (2 bottles of water per day were delivered every afternoon), haidryer, aircon, daybed, chairs/table on the terrace. The buffet restaurant offered a large breakfast buffet lots of choices (hot & cold) and crispy bread. The evening buffets had different themes and I found everything quite delicious. Items wre always fresh and constantly refilled. The only thing that I found a bit annoying was that the dishes were sometimes taken away when I was just about to drop the fork - a bit too quickly in my opinion. The hotel offered various activities (including yoga, evening entertainment, SUPs, glassbottom boat trips) for free and other things at a fee (diving, spa treatments etc). The gym was small (unfortunately the wifi didn’t reach the basement - I suggest an amplifier for that area) but had good equipment.

The location for the beach and snorkelling was excellent, some of the best on the island. The gardens and their maintenance was beautiful. The resort property itself was a bit dated (clearly been updated on the cheap - painted tiles etc. ) and things weren’t repaired quickly. The breakfast was good, but we were SO pleased we didn’t go for half board or all inclusive as the evening meal and service was very poor. Also, AI supplement prices were added to most things. Would have felt very cheated by this option. Avoid and go B&B for a perfectly pleasant stay.

The property is old and rundown and while some staff are very sweet…for the most part I felt very ignored and that they were too busy to even bother engaging with me whatsoever. I had dinner one night and was told I needed to wait for a table despite it being a buffet style while other guests just walked in and were sat right away. I ate my whole meal before I was even offered a drink. The housekeepers were good but the rooms are dated and the decks all around the pool and bar area are hazardous. The planks move up and down from rot and it all needs to be replaced. Their all inclusive system is time wasting even though certain things are included you still get a bill and have to sign for everything down to a bottle of water. Waste of time and paper. Overall worst hotel stay I’ve ever had avoid this place. I have also never given a hotel a bad review and I’m not someone who complains about little things. However, overall my experience here was not good.

Had a 10 day stay at Solana Beach - lovely and peaceful, directly on its own beach, accessed mostly via steps (but also via a slope at the far left side) with sun loungers on the higher grassed levels outside the room blocks as well as the beach. Grounds are well kept and very appealing to relax in. It is a quiet area so have to travel to explore. There are 3 restaurants (1x buffet and 2x a la carte) and 2 bars with areas to sit and relax. Rooms are spread over three floors (no lifts to upper floors) and are spacious and comfortable. All have beautiful sea views, comfortable beds, wardrobe, safe, mini bar (chargeable), air conditioning and tea/coffee making facilities. Bathrooms have good showers, with rainfall and handheld heads and separate WC's, some also with a bidet. Small complimentary bottles of some toiletries are provided. Rooms are cleaned daily. Staff are welcoming, friendly and happy to help. There is an air-conditioned gym, with a small selection of cardio and resistance machines as well as weights. Ylang Spa has a broad range of services and the therapists really know what they are doing (Nemisha is great). Guest can use the sauna and steam rooms free of charge however pre-booking is required. Beach activities are available on site, some are free but some are chargeable. Hotel is near Belle Mare village with a few shops and small supermarket (can be accessed via the beach but finding where to leave the beach is hard - so walk through the park instead).

Excellent séjour !

Récemment revenu de deux semaines mémorables en juillet, nous avons passé nos vacances à l’île Maurice, à l’hôtel Solana Beach. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons bénéficié d’un accueil chaleureux : toute l’équipe a été à l’écoute pendant tout le séjour; petit déjeuner et dîner étaient servis à l’heure, avec un service attentionné qui anticipait chacune de nos demandes. Nous avons également profité des soins au Ylang Spa, où des professionnelles telles qu’Usha, Kaelyna et Vima, aux mains expertes, ont rendu chaque massage mémorable. Nous tenons à remercier tout particulièrement Laëtitia et Dominique pour leur excellent accueil ! Le personnel était toujours professionnel et souriant. L’établissement offrait un vrai confort : literie agréable, chambre bien agencée, repas variés, petit-déjeuner copieux et animations du soir parfaitement organisées. C’est un véritable top‑10 pour le Solana Beach ! Le sous-directeur prend le temps de saluer les convives, ajoutant une touche personnelle très appréciée. Nous recommandons vivement Solana Beach Mauritius à toute personne souhaitant vivre des vacances reposantes, sans stress et remplie d’attention. Merci encore à toute l’équipe !

Budget and shows.

To be honest this was very difficult. Starting with the nice bit, it’s cheap, and it was my first time in Mauritius so I didn’t know the relativity of quality but it’s stark for this 4 star hotel and the 5, so acknowledging this is cheaper and judging it reasonably there are glaring issues. 1. Day 1. The room had a leak on the roof so when it rained at 3:00 in the morning it was like a drum on the roof, call reception and they offered to take me on a tour of other rooms I could move to. Not thrilling. 2. There was mould in the room in the bathroom where clearly there is no ventilation, this comes with the expected smells. Not great for the start of your holiday. 3. Change room day 2, and another roof problem, this time the AC unit had parts not attached properly, so when you try and sleep at night and there is wind in a tropical country, banging once again ensues like a drum. 3 calls with maintaince and fixed (recurred later in the trip) 4. The mattress is like sleeping on bricks, to the point I had a massage at the start and end of the stay - which I booked at the hotel down the road as it’s just nicer (I spent 2 days in Longbeach on there day pass which you can buy for 200 euro for 2 people and highly recommend) 5. The toilet broke - and was fixed 3 times before on the last time it wouldn’t flush they changed the whole cistern … but living with this isn’t great on holiday. There is more - leaks in multiple roofs, significant safety issues in the gym .. you get it

J’ai passé un excellent séjour au Solana Beach - Adults Only ! 🌴 L’hôtel est magnifique, très bien entretenu, et l’ambiance est calme et reposante, idéale pour se détendre. Le personnel est aux petits soins, toujours souriant et disponible. Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres et confortables, avec une vue superbe sur la mer. Mention spéciale pour le petit-déjeuner, très varié et délicieux ! Je recommande vivement cet établissement pour un séjour en amoureux ou entre amis, loin de l’agitation. 💙

Rooms in poor condition air conditioning very noisy,floor around the toilet rotten making it wobble all in all very tired. Paid for 8 days only stayed 7 asked for late check out wanted to charge another day still not heard back from Expedia as was told to contact agent about the extra day refund hotel couldn’t sort it apparently. The staff were very nice all the time they could try to sell you a special menu evening any other time adequate. From our experience I would not recommend but you could get lucky

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. From the front desk staff to the restaurant staff, they were all fantastic, attentive, friendly and genuinely cared. They looked happy and smiling all the time. Our rooms, booked 4 rooms, were spotless, beautiful and very comfortable. Housekeeper did a fantastic job through our stay. The activities were OK. The night entertainment should be better. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend Solana Beach Hotel.

First of all, I am not used write negative reviews, but have to do it this time to let other people know about this place. It was a terrible experience. The hotel quality doesn’t corresponds with pictures and with 4* hotel level at all (perhaps 15 or 20 years ago). Some personnel are nice and friendly. Beside many negative and strange things, the wooden terase around swimming pool is really dangerous - old rotten boards across complete terase, when my wife was trying to enter the pool 2 boards came out and only by luck she was not seriously injured - never seen something similar at any hotel.

Alles bestens, super Essen (Buffet) mit reichhaltiger Auswahl, Lage direkt am Strand, sehr ruhig, wir hatten ein Zimmer im UG mit Terrasse und der Möglichkeit von dort die nur wenigen Meter direkt zum Strand zu gehen.
