Renovations and closures

Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali International Airport) is also closed on Seclusion Day.

The stay went acceptable. The staff are friendly and helpful, definitely showing hospitality. While the hotel appears to have a very nice view, surrounded by trees and nature, the room itself seems to need some repair. We were greeted by a clogging sink. The air inside the room also smells moldy, which made the stay in the room uncomfortable. There is visible mold on the curtain of the bathroom. We also found somebody else's sock in the gap between the two mattresses. The room can definitely use more light fixtures as well.

This Spa hotel is excellent. Sadly next door hotel is being rebuilt so weekday 9-5 is very noisy at front of hotel. The spa is excellent, the food is good and it is not the hotel’s fault about the neighbour hotel rebuild programme. I am lucky as I’m now in a villa away from the builders and no longer hear them. Be clear when you book if you plan to be in the hotel during weekday daytime you can deal with the noise.

They had flowers all over my room! I felt like Hakeem in “Coming to America” 😆 Mos def felt like a QUEEN! Loved their welcome drink. Their food is also good! And you get a free breakfast and daily foot massage, for FREE! Truly loved staying here and they offered shuttle service and everything! Can’t wait to go back!

I have to waited for my room for about 15 min even though I got there after the check in time. They didn’t have the welcoming drink ready either. Then the room I was assigned has not hydro and I waited for another 15 minutes until I was assigned another room. Not a good experience after a long day between flight and traffic.

This was my 2nd time staying at Sankara. I loved it so much I booked my stay there again while in Ubud. The staff are what made me return. They are so friendly and accommodating. It is slow paced and relaxed so if you’re traveling from a busy city such as NYC like myself make sure you don’t forget to pack your patience. The grounds at Sankara resort are magical as well. I will definitely return next time I visit Bali again.

Dated but beautiful

The property needs some maintenance but overall is beautiful. The pool villa is the way to go if you like having a private pool. However the villas does not have proper AC for the size. You will be slightly warm. The team there does care and try’s hard. The location is in a quiet area for the most part. There is some construction next door but it wasn’t too disruptive. The food was just ok. There are good food options nearby. Ubud central with traffic will take 25 minutes. Sankara provides a shuttle so that’s nice.

Consider Ubud a junglelike location and so the hotel is in such an area but it is very beautiful. We were welcomed very kindly and the staff were very accommodating. Just be mindful that at the time of our visit, there was nearby construction going on which created a lot of noise and workers were a little intrusive by the pool. Room was a very good size but slightly old in design (it fitted the vibe of a jungle). A lot of YouTube videos online are a true reflection of the rooms. Bathroom was an open style so at times could be very slippery. Out of the 3 hotels I stayed at in Bali, this bed was the best and most comfortable - never had a better night sleep than here. The AC unit was a god send too! One gripe I had were ants in the bathtub and an infestation on the door but they provided ant killer which kept them at bay. Also there were other wildlife like lizards nearby which was a little unsettling. But that is to be expected because of the area. It was very well situated with a free shuttle service to central Ubud. We struggled to eat a lot of the breakfast in the morning and just opted to have cereal instead - our dietary requirements were halal.
