Relaxing and lovely seaside resort

A perfect place to kick back and relax in the sun, swim in the ocean (or one of two pools), and take it easy. I enjoyed the casual evening entertainment (a talented singer and band by the pool). The staff was friendly, and the restaurant in a beautifully-restored wooden dhow was a special experience. This is apparently a German-owned resort and German-speaking guests would feel especially at home here.

Great for a getaway at competitive prices

We came here to celebrate our honeymoon. Although we arrived late, past dinner time, they still allowed us to refresh after a long drive, then they graciously offered a la carte, way past the call of duty. This is excellent service. The rest of the stay went well. Highly recommended

Great place for a quiet holidays

This is a great hotel on Bamburi beach. Super friendly staff and an excellent experience. In terms of other guests: when I visited in Nov / Dec there was a lot of Germans and also senior citizens. If you are expecting party central then this is not for you (or most other hotels on Bamburi beach). Typically you move around either with taxi / uber / toktok / etc or you walk on the beach. The main road leading olto Bamburi is under construction so for now it's a bumpy, slow moving dusty ride. Be mindful that in day time the beach has a lot of beach boys and girls that will try to sell you things you or may not need. In the evening stroll down the beach to check out some of the nearby other hotels / restaurants. For those looking to have a relaxing stay along pools, dip into ocean, enjoy the warm weather and possibly join a safari trip this a a great hotel. Thanks to the super friendly staff!

Not bad....but....

First off we would go back again but it wouldn't be our first choice the food is disappointing I give it about a 3 out of 10 and the service is probably a six out of ten housekeeping is good with an 8 and overall friendliness of the staff and the general ambience also gets an eight. We found that there is a significant problem with mosquitoes twenty-four hours a day and they actually make live free and comfortable clearly the hotel needs to engage in a proper spraying program to alleviate this problem. The pickup and drop-off from the airport to the hotel was all on time but the quality of the driving was quite frankly dangerous and next time I would want to make an alternate arrangement. Lastly the service around the swimming pools was virtually non-existent you had to keep looking for a waiter which obviously detracts from the overall enjoyment of being on vacation.
