We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding nearby. I usually expect pub rooms to be a bit hodge podge, but the sawmills were very hotel-esque. Done to a very nice finish. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing, full gastro pub with well thought flavours and good quality ingredients

Great location for us visiting family - setting is excellent and outside area with water, lots of baskets of flowers is very enticing. Decor in the Inn and the rooms is exceptional. This might be picky but a soap dispenser over the hand basin would be useful. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made the stay memorable.

Friendly staff, clean very tidy rooms, breakfast was more than ample and cooked to perfection we had two evening meals at the in house restaurant which was also cooked to perfection and well priced, the chef was very experienced and cooked to exact standards, definitely stop there again and would throughly recommend to others.

Lovely pub! Cosey, clean modern room. The staff were very welcoming and friendly the only gripe we had was the evening meals were not as good as we thought and the price was a little on the high side given the standard of food but on the flip side breakfast was supurb. Well located for South West Coastal path and Tarka Trail. Comfy bed and good breakfast. The room was too warm but as it was over the kitchen we couldn't open the windows due to the smell from kitchen extractor fan. Mixed staff. The waitress was lovely but low level of commitment to customer satisfaction from the manager.

This was our second stay at the Sawmills, the staff , the room and the service continue to be excellent. We will continue to stay at the Sawmills when next return to North Devon for its location and for its value for money. Only criticism would be to offer a non cooked breakfast such as porridge or cereal plus orange juice , evening meals could be improved to offer fresh season vegetables rather than chips. A most enjoyable stay.
