We had a small dark room which had shabby mis-matched furniture, which was nothing like any of the photos. After hurting my leg on a sharp bedside table in the night, we asked for a different room. It was completely different and so much better. The hotel is in a great central position.

Two days in the historic city of Salamanca

Decided at the last minute to travel to Salamanca and spend two days after meeting a couple from Salamanca in Medina Morocco. So glad we did it and glad we stayed in the Sercotel by the Cathedral.

Checkin very slow and no air-on and very warm rooms, opening windows was problematic as noise outside. Very good breakfast. Bar did not seem to be open and neither was restaurant on Sunday, not sure about other days. Staff provided limited help with options available locally. Would not return as lots of alternatives

Perfect location

Location is perfect, in a historical area. The building itself merges with the old and inspiring nature of the city. Room was very comfortable and staff was very nice. My only complain is that we got a room with two separate beds. It seems to be a common thing in Spain. Other that that, all was great. And the location cannot be better

Great hotel in beautiful Salamanca!

What a location!!! If you crawl, you can make it to the Cathedral! And some rooms (darn, not ours!) have a direct view over the cathedral across the street! Also, the hotel is a great condition - very clean, with spacious rooms and very quiet AC. Also breakfast was very copious and varied - loved it! Finally, the service was excellent and happy to help with anything. Loved this place - and Salamanca is a true delight! Double bonus!

This amazing and gorgeous hotel is steps away from the beautiful Catedral de Viaje in Salamanca. Our views were exceptional, the room was immaculate, loved having a safe for my Mac Air, breakfast buffet was beyond amazing! Staff everywhere were so sweet and accommodating and always polite, nice, and helpful with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel. They have a bar on the weekends for evening drinks, the only thing I would have wanted was an espresso machine in the room. But their espresso machine in the dining room was perfect!

Fabulous location, but service could improve

Th hotel quality and location were fabulous. I downgraded the overall experience because staff did not honor my request for two beds from my booking (which I showed them) and then tried to charge me more money to get the two beds I requested. I’m pretty sure they gave my room to someone else.

Sadly, Should’ve been better.

Nice hotel- but for the money I’m not too sure- seems like most of the money has been spent on the reception and communal areas. The room felt a little tired. Some wallpaper starting to peel and the furniture getting a little dated. I emailed asking for a parking quote but no reply- until 2 days after I’d checked out! So I headed straight to the hotel- rang the buzzer at the car park and was quoted 41€ for a night!! Wow! I parked a few minutes around the corner for 15€. Overall a nice stay in a great location but don’t think I’d stay again.

Hotel conveniently located at end (thus away from noise) of mainly pedestrianised street (past Cathedral to Plaza Mayor) with plentiful restaurants - some now closing down their outdoor eating for the season. Very handy for the historic city right beside the Cathedral (although depends upon which entrance they are using). Re hotel details – they have air conditioning. So a very stuffy first night as appeared to be working but ineffective – then we opened window – OK when not raining - to improve matters. Pleased to say still quiet although in central city Reception said – the air-con’s off for the winter – they failed to understand that does not deliver advertised expectations! Room safe worked well albeit difficult to see given its location and available light. Clean, comfortable beds, but only one desk chair to sit on Bathroom – all you would expect with good high shower. Tried the breakfast just once – relatively expensive (and machine coffee) given alternatives close by. Their parking entrance off a side street nearby - needs to be pointed out, but nowhere obvious to park up to unload on arrival. We ended up going straight into the garage having had to walk to reception from car to find out where to go. Parking secure, it’s actually under the hotel – whether there are enough spaces?
