We had specifically booked a suite (65 m2) with a corner view of the falls and 2 queen beds as we’re a family for 4 with 2 tall teenagers, and what drew me to the hotel was this room. The room provided to us was a smaller room with one queen bed and a pull-out sofa and not corner view. The staff knew the booked room was not available but failed to inform us, when we checked in. Upon our questioning the assigned room, the staff admitted the booked room was unavailable due to reconstruction, and claimed the hotel had been unable to contact us about this due to us booking through a third party. This is hard to believe as all our bookings for this trip has been through the same third party, and all the previous hotels have had our contact details on file. The staff also claimed they did not know we were travelling with children despite the booking being for 2 adults and 2 children with their ages 14 and 16 entered on booking site. We informed the staff that the boys couldn’t possibly fit on a pull out as they’re too tall. An additional roll-out bed was suggested by the staff, however it would be impossible to fit an extra bed into the tiny room where the pull-out sofa was sitting, and we found the solution completely unacceptable considering the original booking. An offer was then made of an additional room on another floor free of charge. Although also unsatisfactory, we felt we had to accept the socalled offer. Had we known beforehand, we would have chosen a different hotel.
