This was not my first stay at this hotel, but after my most recent visit, I am truly appalled. It all began with a false fire alarm, not caused by any real fire hazard, but by a malfunction in the fire protection system. As a result, from 2:00 a.m. until 4:30 a.m., we were forced to wait outside the hotel. I lost a night’s sleep, was left completely exhausted, and received neither an apology nor any form of compensation.
Of course, the fire brigade arrived on site, but the issue turned out to be purely technical. In the middle of the night, the hotel manager was called in, trying to disable the alarm, but there were major problems. Ultimately, due to a technical failure, I spent half the night standing outside in the cold.
The final straw, however, was the last incident. At check-in, my card was charged an incorrect amount — higher than what I was supposed to pay. I noticed this in my room and went back to reception to report the problem. The staff member assured me that the authorization would be released and I would simply pay again. Yet, the block was never lifted, and during the night shift, the staff charged me again, placing another hold on my card.
I raised the issue once more at check-out, and I was promised that all holds would be released immediately. Seven days have now passed, and my funds are still frozen. Yesterday, I wrote an email to the hotel staff asking for action, but I have received no response whatsoever.
