Nice resort, but a little to pricey.

This is a nice resort with a good amount of sunbeds around the pool and beach. Nice rooms. The price i quite high, and one of the reasons is that they also have half and full board and all inclusive option available as well. This makes the resort feel less exclusive. When we booked the half board had same price as bed and breakfast so you're kind of forced to take it. When we signed the dinner check the included buffet dinner was valued at about 40 USD pr person. I would have been so much more happy if they knocked that or most of that of the room price so that we could have used the ala cart resturant instead or you could have voucher with that value to use in the ala carte restaurant.

Hotel is beautiful and very relaxing. The roads right outside leading to the hotel is really bad, don't recommend for pregnant ladies it's really rough. We enjoyed our stay hope to return in the future

This is a nice property with comfy beds and friendly staff. The dining options are very very limited and extremely overpriced. If you stay here, I would recommend walking down the beach to one of the many restaurants where you can feed four people for the cost of feeding one at this hotel.

Most comfortable and enjoyable and professional st

When I arrived, I was greeted in a most friendly and professional manner. Was given a room upgrade. Staff and managers were extremely helpful always asking if I needed anything else. Food was of very good quality and lots of variety. I needed technical support with my devices and the IT guy went out of his way to help me and explain what I needed to do.

Reception should replace enployees

The personnel at the reception was not serviceminded either during check in nor at check out. They should look for another job than the service business or stay back office. Hotel fine😊and the rest of the personnel👍

This is a alright beach resort, a little outdated for the price-range, and not possibly a 4* hotel. Beautiful garden. The beach is very affected by the tides and the water is muggy as the tides change. Better swimming conditions around Royal and Kendwa beach. We had all-inclusive option, good variety of foods and drinks, though the drinks' option is limited to specific selection from the menu. Room was clean, but interior is outdated. The road that takes you from the village to the hotel is awful with huge holes that the cars need to pass very carefully and slowly. It is a disgrace that a 4* hotel does not make any effort to upgrade the local road, if not for its customers, then as a contribution to locals' welfare.

Excellent spa treatments. The view from the hotel is lovely with gorgeous blue waters. Overall the food and drink are average at best. We had stayed before a few years back and noticed the decline. With the all inclusive package now, sparkling wine is no longer included along with a number of mixed drinks. Certain foods at the buffet ran out and weren’t refilled. The air conditioning was broken in our room (it was 104/40 degrees c). We contacted the front desk and requested a room change, but there were no rooms available. They tried to fix the a/c but it still didn’t work. 2 days later we were given another room, along with complimentary massages as an apology, which was a nice touch. Had a wonderful time with our friends, but have mixed feelings about recommending it again.

Amazing staff

We have loved our stay at Nungwi Beach by Turaco. Rooms are so comfy. Air conditioning worked very well. We had a slight maintenance issue which was resolved swiftly and very well. The food was to our taste. Always fresh fish and pasta. The grill outside was a highlight at dinner in the evening. Benson, Roger,Stephano, Omar, Emmanuel and others for amazing service in the bars. We never felt thirsty once. Cocktails were amazing, much better than cheap all inclusives in Europe. Shabhan and Kaimu on the grill and pasta/omellete station was so friendly and welcoming. James, Divota, Halima and Marko gave fantastic service to us at meal times. Moses on security was so nice and pleasant. The only drawback I would say is entertainment and activities included with the stay. We were there 7 nights and there was 4 nights with dancing/singing/acrobats/whirling. We took part in aquagym on just one occasion too. We hoped it could have been being offered everyday but that could have been die to some cloudy/showery conditions in the late mornings. In summary, the staff make the place so special so make sure you tip well. We would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Sleepless in Nungwi

Completely lack of interest in resolving critical problems. I’m not a person who complains a lot but when the ceiling fan squeaks loudly once per second all the time and I can’t sleep for a week I do complain. Three times actually and staff chooses to do nothing. Not even giving feedback on why it can’t be resolved or trying to solve it with a workaround. A portable desk fan would probably been enough to create an indoor temperature possible to sleep in. Just a “I’m sorry” during checkout. Have never experienced such uninterested service level attention at any 4-5 star property before.

Ok let’s start with the positive points. 1. The staff are absolutely lovely. 2. The gardens are extremely well looked after 3. The coffee Shop on site is great. 4. The beds are comfortable as they have a great mattress topper on. 5. The bathroom is adequate even if a little dated and tired. Not so positive 2. The hotel and accommodation is dated tired and in need of repair. The thatched roofs are falling down, and completely dilapidated. 3. The rooms are ok and fairly spacious however the room is in need of a renovation/refurbishment. 4. The windows. On the whole site are dirty including the bedroom patio windows. 5. The stairwells and communal areas leading to bedrooms are dirty. 6. Food is good, (we only booked B&B ) the buffet style restaurant is good and good choice something for everyone. 7. We ate both nights at the fisherman’s Restaurant attached to the hotel. 1st night we had lobster and we were originally sat outside but when the food came we were attacked by 1000 flys so we had the retreat inside. The lobster was good even if a little overcooked. 8. 2nd night we ate there it took over an hour for our food to arrive, and we and another couple were the only people in there. 9. The beach - if you’re going for the beach you will be disappointed as it’s full of rubbish and seaweed. Also the jet ski people drive like idiots, it’s an accident waiting to happen. No internet for the whole duration. Continuing repair of the sewage next to my room with bad smell and noise even until 8pm. Confused staff, they called me 1am for wake-up while they supposed to call the next night and hung up without even a simple apology and many other things..

Great stay

Fantastic and responsive staff, excellent food, very nice view from the room overlooking the sea, comfortable room. What we liked less: signing the bills for each drink or meal even though we were all inclusive... boring... lack of entertainment and atmosphere, and when there was entertainment they started too early, while people were eating and couldn't enjoy it, and they finished too early (9:30 p.m.) to be able to enjoy it after eating... and the fact of not being able to take advantage of the all inclusive on the day of departure between the noon check out and the pick up time, asking us to pay for drinks after check out when we spent 10 nights at the all inclusive price is a bit mean

This hotel and Zanzibar were quite disappointing. Our room was musty/moldy, dirty, dated, noisy and the dead bolt didn’t work. But the biggest issue was the lack of customer service. When I asked to move rooms I was told no, they were sold out (all room categories, I offered to take a lesser category). I went online and saw that they had rooms the next day - their response was that they didn’t know who was checking out so I could check in the morning. In the morning they still didn’t know so check back. Eventually they did move us but that and other things (smokers everywhere, aggressive beach vendors, noisy restaurant/bar next door, seaweed all over the beach, lack of a beach, etc) resulted in a poor overall experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and am surprised Marriott puts their name on it.

This hotel and its amenities were subpar. The Wi-Fi hardly worked. The television was non-functional. The meals were not tasty. There are cats scattered all over the dining area when you’re eating. But the staff were great!
