I am a regular traveller to Glasgow and Preston and Manchester and living in a country area between the east and west coast of England I use Arkale lodge as a stopover for to rest and to catch my trains to my final destination the next day . Room 10 was spotless, great breakfast and a nice host as always. Comfortable nights sleep and plenty of rest during my stay and a nice Sunday night stay which was restful

I have stayed at this property many times before and it does not disappoint. I love attic rooms and the nice owner upgraded me to Room 6 on the top floor . If you need snacks there is an Asda across the road and next door a pub that does meals and craft beers . Excellent vegetarian breakfast which helps with a medical condition I have which was tasty. Good price and what’s not to like

Brilliant service from Ishwar and Sabita, true care and consideration for an octogenarian guest. Great breakfast menu - cooked to perfection. However, stairs no lift and parking circa 100m in private shared carpark. Not at the pub next door which is only available for pub dining.
