KPH Guest Service Center Smile Concierge was a welcome surprise after exiting the Karuizawa Station exit. The persons at the GSCSC were extremely helpful and gave me all sorts of guidance for my stay which proved to be very useful Appreciated the shuttle which runs from KPH GSCSC Karuizawas Station to the Karuizawa Prince Hotel. The hotel was quiet, clean and has a coin laundry which was very convienient.

Nice stay

Staff is nice and friendly. The infrastructure for Hot spring is wonderful and clean. The location of the hotel is perfect for shopping at the outlet. It would be better if the staff of the hotel can speak fluent English.

It’s the nice hotel near the JR station. The Chinese restaurant we went served excellent dishes. You can enjoy the hot spring many times a day. We could see the Mt. Asama from the balcony. We also enjoyed the beautiful song of birds. Two common kingfishers flew over the garden in front of us.

We rented a cottage, but the room looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1970s. There were also a lot of ants on our bed, along with some spiders. The A/C didn’t work in the morning, and it was quite cold. They offered to change our room, but it was too inconvenient to move at night, so we just put up with it. Additionally, they charge cottage guests for using the hot spring, which was disappointing. Overall, we were very disappointed with the experience.
Takuya, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Service Quality Needs Improvement

1. I experienced unhelpful behavior from bus drivers on two circular routes and felt discriminated against as a Chinese tourist. On several occasions, they required us to exit the bus and take the one in the opposite direction, even though both routes are circular and follow the same path. 2. The bus schedule is insufficient to meet the demand, resulting in buses that are always packed with people 3. The hot spring services close at 7pm. This early closure is quite unexpected and inconvenient, as it is common for guests to enjoy the hot springs after dinner, well beyond 7pm.
Kai Kwong, 1-night trip

What i didn’t like is the their transportation staff,VERY RUDE and UNACCOMMODATING. The Country club is very nice, but our log cabin is not worth it. The toilent STINKS! and also the HOUSEKEEPING STAFF DIDNT TAKE OUT ALL THE TRASH. Your reputation is wasted. Your performance fell far below expectations.
Stephen, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

At checkin, I was offered access to the various services and facilities Prince Hotels provides to its guests. Upon learning I had a tattoo, that offer was rescinded, and I was denied access to areas that other patrons were not. This tattoo is of significant cultural and religious importance, yet in the year 2024, Prince Hotels clearly demonstrated they do not respect the cultural diversity of their guests, only the money they bring in. I urge all people who value freedom of expression, freedom of religion, and protection from censorship to choose alternative lodgings, rather than a Prince facility that does not share your values.
Chris, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

No laundry & kitchen in the cottage, Car parking need extra time waiting for the shuttle bus to pick up It’s better & convenient if we can have the car parking near to cottage It was so dark at night, when we got off the bus walking to the cottage, I got fell on the ground because of couldn’t see it clearly there is a rocky curb side. Besides, the weather control in the cottage is so hard to adjust, sometime too hot, sometimes too cold. Limited utensil in the cottage: no knife, no microwave (should be the necessity kitchen ware or appliances in the cottage. No dish wash soap in the cottage for general cleansing.
sek kwai, 2-night trip

The room was too warm without cold aircon!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and arrived from Tokyo before 1 p.m.. The receptionist was kind enough to check us in at 1 p.m. though the check in time was 3 p.m.. The room was too warm however. We were told that the hotel aircon was still in the heating mode. So we turned the aircon off with the top windows opened. But it’s still too warm. We tolerated the warmth for the first night. It was warmer the next day at 22C throughout and just a bit cooler in the evening. The room was still stuffy with the top windows opened. We had to borrow a fan to circulate the still air in the room but it’s just too warm to sleep comfortably. I feel that the hotel should be more flexible to allow guests to switch the aircon to cold air according to their needs. After all, it’s important for hotel guests to have a good night’s sleep.
