A true gem in Amalfi

Amazing simple little hotel. Great location, a cozy private beach (expect lots of stairs, as usual in Amalfi), nice breakfast, comfortable beds. Excellent service orchestrated by Sasa. Location quite comfortable, walkable to the Amalfi center, plus busses. Several nice restaurants within short walking distance. There are lots of stairs to the stree level but that's Amalfi. Highly recommended, hope to come back.

Amalfi’s hidden gem

Our stay at Villa Santa Maria was absolutely unforgettable. Even with just 2 days and 3 nights, the concierge, Salvatore, made us feel welcomed right from the start. He personally guided us over the phone upon our arrival in Amalfi and remained readily available throughout our stay—whether it was helping us with directions, recommendations, or even navigating the local bus schedule. We stayed in the Junior Villa Suite, which offered plenty of privacy, stunning views, and a relaxing hot tub. Breakfast was delicious every morning—don’t miss ordering the fruit of the day! Overall, we would gladly return to Villa Santa Maria on a future trip to Amalfi, thanks largely to the exceptional hospitality Salvatore provided.

Amazing stay on the Amalfi Coast

This place is incredible! An amazing cliffside setting with direct access to the emerald water of the Mediterranean. However, because of its setting, there are a lot of stairs (not for those who are out of shape). There are 165 steps down to the accommodation from the main road (staff helped with luggage) and another 300 steps down to the water. That said, this is a spectacular location and a wonderful place to stay. Clean well-appointed rooms. We stayed in a room with our own deck area and private hot tub. Other rooms share a communal hot tub. Great made-to-order breakfast is included. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nearby restaurants within walking distance. Parking is very limited and driving and parking along the Amalfi Coast are tricky and tight. We drove and found parking along the road with our small car. Keep the hotel posted with your method of travel (car, driver, taxi, etc.) so that they can anticipate your arrival. Try lunch at the nearby seaside restaurant only accessible by the water (they will pick you up at the hotel dock area for free). Can't recommend this place enough.

Comfortable stay and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They reached out to me ahead of time to provide location details and find out our arrival time. The hotel is around 200? steps down from the road. After finding out that we were driving there they gave me some options. We could either park it with them but would not have easy access since it’s not stored onsite or park on the narrow street. We parked on the street. A staff member greeted us by the road and helped get our heaviest pieces of luggage’s down the stairs.

The staff here is extremely attentive and pleasant. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The food is delicious. My personal opinion is that the food here was better than all the restaurants we tried in the Amalfi area. Overall, this spot was amazing for all the available amenities and for the ability to just relax and chill. Definitely would recommend this spot for anyone wanting to be in the Amalfi area

Forever in love with villa Santa Maria

Morning to evening staff Francesca was absolutely wonderful. Arranged drivers for us knew local restaurants and helped us from check in to check out. Night staff Angelo is an amazing cook and absolute sweetheart. Would return to this glorious resort in a heart beat.

We loved staying at Villa Santa Maria! Every single staff member was so helpful and always available. The rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet and the private beach was amazing. The free breakfast is great and they also offer dinner and lunch as well (you pay for of course.) the view when you’re eating is just gorgeous. The reviews about stairs are true, but in the Amalfi coast, that is just how it is! The whole city is on a hill, so you can’t escape stairs no matter where you go, and the stairs really aren’t that bad at all. This hotel is about a 8-10 minute drive to the Amalfi piazza and beach and 30 minutes to positano. We just rented a car and had no trouble with parking or getting around with the car when we stayed. We would Defenitely stay here again(:

Beautiful property and views. Nighttime facility caretaker was emotional over a missed local restaurant reservation - we were told it was a busy restaurant though no one was there when we went and thought they were closed. The caretaker refused to listen and decided to ignore us for the rest of our stay and not offer any service such as turning on the sauna for us. Room was advertised with private patio and hot tub. Patio was public for all guests to use right outside our window, because of that we couldn’t open it for privacy. Hot tub was cold - not heated.

An absolute gem off the beaten path of Amalfi! Yes the stairs are killer-no doubt about it. There are about 180 stairs to get down to the hotel and then about 200 more to get down to the private beach. If accessibility isn’t an issue, don’t hesitate for one second to choose this villa hotel. The views are breathtaking from top to bottom. The little beach feels like a private serene escape. And of course the staff is friendly and accommodating. We were on our honeymoon and got upgraded to stay in their private jacuzzi suite making us feel like the only ones there. Francesca and Guiseppe were always there for us- arranging shuttle services, restaurant reservations, water taxis, a late-night snack and so on. They made us feel beyond attended to. Amalfi’s main square is in walkable distance from the hotel-about 40 mins at a slower pace. To get to Positano, they arranged a water taxi that picked us up from the hotels private beach. Overall, we had an unbelievable stay!

Paradise stay in Amalfi

Our stay at Villa Santa Maria felt like we were in paradise! Prior to arriving Francesca messaged us on to confirm at what time we would be arriving and advised us on how to get to the villa. We always took the Bus to and from Amalfi. It was a quick 10min bus ride and only costs 1.50 euros each way. Otherwise, the Taxi’s are extremely expensive (we were quoted 50 euros to bring us to the Villa) Upon our arrival a gentleman met us at the bus stop and carried our suitcases down the 185 steps to the Villa! There we were met by Francesca who offered us drinks and welcomed us. To our surprise, the room was already ready. We booked an ocean view superior room. The views were Breathtaking!! The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean! The beach/sauna/spa were all very fun to use and accessible. The ocean water was beautiful and warm. The amenities at the Villa are beautiful and the food was also exceptionally good (Cesar salad YUM)! We were recommended to try Ciccio’s restaurant which is a short walk away and was delicious. Francesca helped us book as we were having trouble online. We also realized we would be late to our booking for our car pickup in Salerno, and read online that some people had issues when they were late. Francesca called for us and explained in Italian that our Ferry would be arriving in Salerno later than expected. We were extremely pleased with our stay and would definitely come back. Thank you Francesca for everything Highly recommend!!

Salvatore and Gerardo were exceptionally good hosts. The accommodation really nice, clean, good views and personal service. The stairs keep you in shape but Gerardo insists helping with the bags, so thats no problem. Breakfast was excellent and the setting beautiful. We arrived by car and that is not the best in Amalfi because the streets are very narrow and parking spaces are not easily found. Next time we will arrive by boat taxi. :)
