Phenomenal property and such a great experience. We normally leave the hotel to do activities surrounding but had a hard time doing it this time around because Varana had everything you could need at such an affordable price! Food, spa, pools, activities were all amazing and we will be back for sure! This is a MUST stay if you are visiting Krabi!

Fake advertising!! The hotel is not on the beach and does NOT have direct access to it despite claim on it web site and on Expedia including fake photo trying to prove otherwise!!( pics of beach from a business they collaborate with. You have to cross a busy road to get to the beach !! 2) there are no elevators to reach the reception or the breakfast restaurant!! 3) they make you wait when you check out until they have checked the room to make sure you did not take the TV with you ?!! And forcefully tell you to wait “ because that is the procedure “!!! Definitely not a 5 star property and should not be allowed to make false claims as being on the beach !!!

Fantastic hotel and staff! Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Situated across from a very quiet beach but there is also a beach club if you want a bit more lively. All in all a great hotel and location.

It was an amazing property, I was bummed that the upper onset wasn’t opened when I was there I guess it will be open next month. I definitely recommend booking the hotels island tour. It was great we had a boat to our selves

Not we normally get at a 5 star resort waking up at 5:00 AM every morning from the mosque in the area. You also do not indicate that the Beach Club (which we did enjoy) is completely independent from the hotel

We had an amazing stay. The staff are so hospitable and accommodating. The hotel wasn't busy when we arrived and we were able to check in to our rooms early after arriving in the morning. On our final day, we were also able to use one of the rooms late since we had a nighttime departure. The food was awesome and there are lots of really good restaurants within walking distance. The beach is just across the street and it's nice and quiet compared to the more popular beaches. Overall an amazing stay and we'll definitely be back.

Amazing hotel. Value for money ❤️

We were truly amazed and surprised how warm and nice this hotel is. Staff is super friendly and service oriented. Very attentive to my sick wife and kid. Excellent pool areas and even an Olympic pool. Food is the best, breakfast is so delicate and tasty. Associated beach club is also very nice. Many daily activities and focus on health and sports. Beach is across the road and very nice and cozy with local restaurants chilled for sunsets. We highly recommend Varana. Value for money

Really lovely resort - lots of area's to relax and pools are fab. The place is very new so lush facilities. Great to have free kayaking and beach volley ball facilities etc. Breakfast was excellent. Only dislikes were the gym is a bit crowded in am, and no room to be. For a place that is marketed as a wellcation facility I expected yoga options and exercise classes at a reasonable price. Great restaurants at resort (Sala) but rather more expensive then local places which are great. And happy hour cocktaisl very disappointing at the beach club.

New hotel so property is beautiful and in very good condition. Worth the upgrade to horizon room - much larger and spectacular beach and sunset views with access to quieter breakfast restaurant. Gym is good but needs more cardio equipment - a lot of open space for equipment like punching bags and ropes that no one uses. Service is somewhat lacking - very slow check in, check out and service at restaurants. Need to fine tune that to be a 5 star.

The hotel property was so nice and clean. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding, the pool bar was nice and had great food! The only thing I would suggest is to get a lift up to the breakfast area as the only way up is stairs. People who are handicap/bad knees have to go up stairs. Also, it would be nice if more shopping is around the area on the beach. Not much shops around. Other than that, great place to stay, we loved it!!!

New hotel, very clean. The staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a quieter part, maybe 15 mins in a car from the main touristy bit - for us that is a positive. The swimming pools are great, two kid friendly pools and a huge/deep pool for exercise/diving. How the hotel could improve: - better sound proofing in the rooms - branded shampoo/conditioner - a small mirror was taped onto the big mirror in the bathroom, this kept falling off which was rather annoying. Minor complaints. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a luxury break.

Simply perfect!

Honestly perfect! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the design and build of the hotel is breathtaking and the food was wonderful! We stayed for 3 days as part of our honeymoon and we already want to come back. The breakfast buffet was so tasty, the spa and fitness classes were great and the rooms were so comfortable and clean. The beach club is one of the best we have been too- stunning views and great food and drink ( don’t miss happy hour 2 for 1 everyday!) the cocktails worked out to £3 which is spectacular considering the quality and location- we would usually pay £14-£18 for something like this in Europe. Make sure to take the boat tour with picnic too and rent a motorbike to see other parts of Krabi ( although we found that no where was as pleasant as Varana and the beach club!

Wonderful accommodations!

The hotel itself is new and beautiful. The staff is very friendly, but the newness shows in the ease of services. They are trying so very hard but it doesn't quite make it. Since we were there during the soft opening I believe they will work out their kinks and smooth out the roughness...but again, the strong effort to please is there. The one downside is the resort is removed from the hub of things and we often had a hard time getting a Grab to pick us up. Getting back home was never an issue. The price for this level of hotel was wonderful and in spite of my criticism I highly recommend the Varana.

I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend if you are looking for a wellness and quiet getaway. The pools and spa were great, and so was the room. Very clean and spacious. Balcony also had nice unblocked views. Minor suggestions for improvement: 1) As it was monsoon season, some of the restaurant options weren’t available, which I only found out by chance later. Would be good if the concierge staff when checking in could inform the visitors from the onset. 2) The experience at the NAAM spa was disrupted with children who were running around and were quite noisy, which defeated the intent and vision of the spa. Hopefully the hotel can administer and police this better for future clients. That said, overall, it was still an enjoyable stay for me.

The Varana Hotel has great curb appeal—beautifully decorated and spacious. But that’s where the compliments stop. As a “wellness” hotel, nearly everything comes at an extra cost, including many activities and access to the beach club. Their sustainability efforts seem more about cutting costs than guest experience. We paid for an Ocean View Room but only saw trees. Rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors do not have ocean views. Walls are thin, so expect noise—from guests, birds, or the 5:30 AM mosque call to prayer. The Olympic pool is 3 meters deep at its shallowest, with no bar or lounge area. Happy hour is a scam—prices increase before offering a “deal.” Hidden fees are everywhere: 1,000 Baht fines for towels on railings, mini-fridge drinks promised as “complimentary” but charged at checkout, and constant upselling of their own services while refusing to recommend outside options. Housekeeping came at 5 PM despite our 6 AM request, and a promised 6 AM boxed breakfast was “confirmed” with a 4 AM wake-up call. In wall safe was not secured tot he wall and easily taken away. Management ignores complaints, offering only “we’ll discuss it in a meeting.” A waste of money—there are better options nearby. Avoid.
