Historic Gem of a Hotel

The Hotel is simply amazing Historic and Pristine And other than an issue with the Server at the French/Main Dining Room everything else was fantastic Staff was extremely fine and you have to watch the Video of the 2018-2020 Gut Restoration to truly see what went into the Hotel. It's a Gem. As is the whole area Don't miss the Open Area Museum

One of the iconic hotels in all of Japan. If you’re in Japan and want to explore the Hakone area, you have to stay here. The service is impeccable, the hotel has 140+ years of history, and the dining choices are superb. Well worth the stay. And did I mention the staff? They welcomed me back (I had stayed years before) as if I were an honored guest. That little item made my day. I will return someday.

Beautiful hotel- lovely surroundings. Stayed in the corner room on the forest tower and the room was fantastic- lovely view. So nice to use the onsen on the sixth floor of this building. Staff of course are amazing. Do be sure to stroll the garden- so beautiful. Breakfast is an affair each morning- felt very pampered. Highly recommend.

The Fujiya is an impressive and beautiful historic hotel. We stayed with our 5 month old baby in the Forest wing. The room itself was spacious and the decor in keeping with the Classical design of the hotel. I particularly enjoyed the onsen and the western breakfast (best breakfast of our trip). Would thoroughly recommend a stay here due to its history and grandeur!

Emerging as our favorite among Japan's 3 historic hotel gems. The Nikko Kanaya is fading and the Nara Hotel is not quite so ornate and extensive. Our best dinner was in the Cascade restaurant.

Fujiya Hotel is an historic building that has been through many evolutions. You can get lost just roaming its corridors where you will find many historical facts about the hotel and its history. Staff are the best and clearly 4 stars for this hotel is well deserved.

It is a historic hotel so expect the look to be a little dated, however, that is what adds charm to it. Overall a comfortable hotel, bathroom not so great (review is for FORESTWING TWIN FOREST SIDE). French restaurant is very nice for dinner as well as breakfast, it feels a little formal but a nice experience. Hotel garden is nice, staff is very helpful.

It gets none more grand than the grounds and the structure of The Fujiya Hotel. It is timeless and classic. If you don’t get a special feeling while staying at this hotel, you might be dead inside.

Historical property in stunning settings, Staff is kind and very helpful Miss Park we loved your kindness.Beautiful property grounds ,excelent food choices.The bed and pillows were so comfortable i slept my best in the last 10 years . I bought their pillows and taking them back to California ,then ordering the mattress from home. We will return to stay at least a week next time. Thank you for making our trip very special.
