As someone who's been poor all my life, I've become a connoisseur of cheap hotels. This stay was excellent for the price. I had low expectations, and they were significantly exceeded. This is the perfect place if you need a place to stay on a budget and aren't too concerned about amenities. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive

Just need to manage your expectations because the property and rooms are really old and run down with the exception of a couple of single queen bed rooms that have been updated. But the double queen rooms have yet to be updated. Best price for being in close proximity to downtown SLO.

Enjoyed my room that had been totally renovated with all the conveniences. Centrally located to downtown in easy walking distance to all of the attractions. It was easy to find and easy access from the Freeway.
