Ethnic hotel in quiet location in the centre of Almaty. Good facilities - good WiFi, TV with English channels, nice bathroom, kettle and tea bags provided. Comfortable room good Airconditioning. Very good breakfast buffer included. Sauna and plunge pool.

Enjoyable Stay

The hotel is quaint, clean and quiet. The room was a bit small but was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good; there was enough variety. The location was great. Lots of restaurants within walk8ng distance and the mall was very close.

To be near Irish and English bars, cocktail bars & up market restaurants Kazakhstan Hotel is much nearer these but does not have 'local' experience

Older hotel, but in a good way. Not luxury but comfortable and quiet. good bed and work area and internet. Nice leafy area. 24 hour supermarket and money exchange steps away. Lots of restaurants within a 15 minutes walk. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff that usually included a fluent English speaker.

cheaply run good hotel

This 6 floor hotel only has ONE iron. So much for four stars. I had a suitcase full needing ironing so I asked to take the iron to my room. I was rudely awoken at 6h30 am (despite no disturb sign) being asked for the iron. After I put it outside, I was still awoken two more times (on the phone and knocking). When I complained to manager, he was rude and said it was my fault for wanting iron in my room ( again, four star hotel). I've travelled in KAZ (cheap and less cheap hotels) and never had issues with irons or being unreasonably awoken. Other than that, condition was good, confortable and reasonably clean (other than used sleepers we found under the bed)

So, the staff aren’t going to win any prizes for friendliness but this is a nice and clean centrally located place. The breakfast room is crowded and without enough space. This, and the generally dated decor lets it down.

Emplacement correct pour découvrir Almaty. Le personnel de l'hôtel est serviable, même s'il parle peu anglais. Chambre très spacieuse et avec le confort nécessaire, au rapport qualité/prix excellent. Check-in à 14h, mais le personnel a gardé ma valise avant gratuitement sans aucune difficulté. Le petit-déjeuner est correct et varié, même si les aliments (notamment chauds) pourraient être un peu plus qualitatifs. Je retournerai à cet hôtel sans problème.

I choose superior room. It was small , I think 200 sqft. Washroom was also very small. Don't go by hotel pictures. Small AC in the room. Breakfast was good but they repeat same everyday. Single lift for entire hotel. one day it was not working. For them it took 1 and a half day to get it functional again. Reception was supportive, they extended check out time by 2 hrs.

Overall poor. Cleanness is not well, old towels were still on the ground, didn’t clean cups. Breakfast was below average. I wouldn’t suggest you to stay, look for other options.

Nice touch

Arrived early after overnight flight. Hotel agreed to check us in 6 hours early & charged half room rate but that included breakfast which was fair enough. Location is tricky to determine in Almaty as it's so sprawling but we walk everywhere so that was OK. Taxis and public transport were so easy and inexpensive that Iocation was not a problem. Although hotel may be described as a bit dated by western standards, staff were friendly and helpful. It was clean and the room comfortable. Breakfast was OK. One nice touch was that it happended to be my birthday when I was there and the hotel obviously picked that up from my passport as upon our return one day, a bottle of fizz and some cholocate had been left.

Good option in safe, well-lit area. Most staff spoke English. Restaurant had a wide selection of food. Curtains were thin so I had to use my sleeping mask. Only one bottle of water provided had me running to the nearby market.
