Overall it’s good, but we don’t think the price is fair for what we see on Expedia/Booking. We found much better and modern options at a cheaper price… the room was really hot and without possibility to open windows. The breakfast was good!

Four/five long blocks to downtown, and I appreciated the walk to and from downtown area. Spacious, clean rooms! Bed was fine - not terrible, not that comfortable. No recycling option in the room or obviously in the property. Extremely limited options for vegan breakfast. Staff was v friendly, and very interested in when I would be out of my room.

This definitely wasn’t a 4* hotel, and was really disappointing after many wonderful (and cheaper) hotels in Patagonia. Decor extremely dated, the hot water didn’t work, and the service was average at best. I’d recommend staying nearer the centre of town.

Breakfast included and pretty good. Personnel very attentive. Good size room although needs remodeling. Sometimes hot at bedtime ( we visited late December ). TV tired and with awful signal. Remote hardly worked. Had to climb once from the town below since their shuttle service begins at 7pm and taxis sometimes are nowhere to be found and it is quite a climb for older guests. However I must say they go out of their way to make you feel at home.

It was a fine place to stay. Nice ambiance. Breakfast was so-so. Also, the room was advertised as having a mountain view which it did not. It may have had previously but the hedge across the street from the room has grown and totally obscures the view. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

I don’t understand how this is 4 star hotel. And I don’t understand how it can have a guest review above 8. But here we are. First the room is not maintained at all there are scratch marks all around the room. The hot water is only available for two minutes afterwards there is none. And if you tell the reception then they will just say you are wrong. I booked for two night, and could not stay for even one night. We just left to a different hotel. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else

El Calafate Comfort

I stayed here based on the good reviews on Hotels.com. I was not disappointed. The breakfasts are excellent and include cooked to order eggs/omelets and they are well prepared. Everything else is self service. Their coffee is nice and strong. On the hotel description it shows “laundry facility“ which indicated to me that they have a laundry machine room that I could use. However, they only provide laundry service. The price is reasonable, but I prefer to do my own laundry. I recommended they update that description to state “laundry service“ instead. The most memorable part of my stay was the assistance at the front desk. They will exchange foreign currency for a very fair rate and they will book excursions for you, which was very helpful to me. If you want the best of view of the mountains at the distance, then book a “ superior room“ on the website. And finally, this hotel is located a few blocks south of Main Street. It is an easy walk downhill to town, but walking back uphill may be difficult for some. They do offer a reasonably priced shuttle service for several hours each night if you need one. I do recommend this hotel and I will stay here again.
