Summer break

We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel and were impressed with the facilities and friendly staff. We returned for the 2nd time having also enjoyed our first stay. Love the views of Torbay and the internal architecture and furnishings of the hotel. It was a shame that the outdoor pool was closed but enjoyed the indoor pool / spa facilities.

A July Stay

Breakfast was excellent. Bar meal was good but not great selection. Main Restaurant was too expensive. The room was great, very comfortable. the Seaview was obscured bey vegetation, but after some discussion, the gardener cut the offending vegetation back which mad the view perfect.

Easy check in. Staff very helpful. Excellent location just hotel a bit tired. Swimming pool area not best. No where to relax in pool side. Rooms old damaged furniture. And not very clean. It was a shame as location perfect.

The public spaces/ rooms were amazing. Our bedroom not so. We had a balcony which was great. The carpet was awful patterned but thats just personal taste i guess. The bar was lacking and prices high to eat and drink. But the staff friendly. Not that suitable for disabled.

Delux room with balcony which was overlooked by diners in the dining room and above the noisy pool pump equipment. Beautiful view, very tired decor and generally not worth the money.

Pleasant stay

We had a great stay and the room had a super view but it was quite bare and didn’t even have a cushion or picture on the wall. However, it was clean. The balcony needed painting. We did use the spa facilities and the staff were lovely. We only had breakfast and decided on room service which was prompt and good food. I would stay again if l got a deal price only. Its location is stunning.

Unloved and needs a complete refurbish.

Very shabby hotel. Exterior, grounds and furniture all in disrepair and the pool was closed -no mention of this on the website when booking. Restaurant walls.skirting boards and window frames were filthy. Bedroom furniture is ancient, shabby and marked but the room itself was spotless considering what the housekeeping team have to work with. Breakfast good. All staff really good apart from the head waitress on the Thursday morning who was very blunt, unacommodating and not pleasant with other staff. Amazing views but this doesn’t warrant the price.

Great hotel, staff and service.

Had a one night stay at the Imperial, staff were excellent and struck the right balance of attentiveness. Room had a fantastic view, was spacey and comfortable. Breakfast was really good, my wife has a dairy intolerance and they catered for this, at not time did they make it feel like it was an inconvenience. It was a lovely one night stay, relaxing and would happily return.
