After reading the previous reviews about this hotel I wasn't expecting much. But actually, I was blown away by the hotel. We had a beautiful room that opened onto a small swimming pool that was shared with 5 or 6 other rooms. The garden areas are really well cared for. The hotel has its own but of private beach. The breakfast buffet was of a really high calibre. We are in the restaurant on two evenings, and the food was amazing. The hotel has its own boat service where they will take you out for snorkel trips, or water skiing. Twice a week they have a glass bottom boat. Would definitely recommend this hotel, and if I return to Mauritius, would stay there again.

Horrible. Go somewhere else.

If you consider going here- think again. This place is absolutely terrible in so many ways. This is what you can expect. - Insects in your room. We had thousands of ants making a ant highway right through the apartment. The staff sprayed some poison in the room and they died, so now we hade thousands of dead insects laying around. The next evening there were a new highway, - The facility is so old and completely worn out. All windows are not possible to close, many pieces of furniture are somewhat broken or nipped. Sounds from the outside travel right through to the inside. The place is just rotten to the core. - The food in the restaurant is below mediocre. - Tons of flies in the restaurant - Bad value for the money compared to what better places charge There is good things also. The boat driver is doing a great job. The cleaning ladies try their best but it is mission impossible to achieve a miracle. The gardeners are keeping the garden really nice.

Good value at a reasonable cost

Ocean Villas is a simple family budget hotel and, as such, provides good value for money. The initial welcome was a little cool, but the front desk got warmer, and a few issues we had with the room were solved well and fairly promptly. We were early and our room was not ready, but it was ready right at the official check-in time. The front desk was flexible and helpful with a late check out time. The complex has a tired feel to it and is in need of some TLC - a roof scrub and bit of whitewash on all the outside walls would help the external appeal greatly. Our room, billed as renovated/contemporary, was nice but a bit tired - quite spacious and with a good-sized bathroom. The hotel has natural, simple, well-kept gardens and it lies directly on a very pleasant small and quite private beach with great views of the Bay and with some water-based activities. We had the evening buffet several times, and they were all very good - reasonably wide choice, well cooked, varied and tasty. The breakfast buffet was also varied and decent. Our one a la carte evening was disappointing, the food mediocre and the service slow (no desserts delivered to anyone until the entire restaurant had finished the main course).The evening entertainment was not always to our taste, but it was nice to have it provided and the guests seemed to enjoy it. The piped music during the day was good (lots of well-known international songs, locally recorded and to a fine reggae rhythm.

Hôtel au personnel très agréable. L’infrastructure aurait besoin d’un bon rafraîchissement extérieur. Par contre en ce qui concerne les chambres, confortable très propre, et calme. Pour être isolé des autres bâtiments privilégiez les villas vue mer avec la piscine devant c’est ce que nous avions choisi. Un petit bâtiment de 6 logements avec à l’étage une vue incroyable sur l’océan. Enfin rapport qualité prix la restauration était vraiment très bien. Buffet et une fois par semaine repas servi à l’assiette. Des plats de qualité et variés avec à la tête du restaurant un chef qui a collaboré dans des restaurants 2 étoiles en France ! Seul hic pas de jus de fruits frais pressé le matin…Situation idéale tout prêt de grand baie. Enfin le spa un incroyable massage balinais d’une heure pour 25€.

Une belle arnaque ! les photos que vous trouvez sur internet ne correspondent pas à la réalité je pense que les photos date de la construction de l’hôtel ..et que sans entretiens il s’est détérioré , en plus il ont voulu m’avoir sur ma chambre ils ont voulu me donner une chambre encore plus bas de gamme que celle que j’avais réservé un comble quand déjà on ne respect pas les gens au point de laisser des photos qui ne représente plus la réalité ! J’ai dû dire non je veux la chambre que j’ai réservé ah eu c’est sur la satisfaction clients ne fais pas mot d’ordre chez eux ! franchement y’a nettement mieux sur l’île dans la même gamme de prix ne perdez pas votre temps à aller là-bas , en ce qui concerne la nourriture médiocre à l’image de l’hôtel ..

Strandhotel ohne Sand

Schönes großes Zimmer mit Riesenbad und Outdoor Badewanne im oben offenen Innenhof. Wir hatten HP gebucht und das Essen war abwechslungsreich und qualitativ sehr gut. Schöne Pools auch wenn der Wind ganz vorne bei unserem Besuch zu stark war um zu baden. Trotzdem tolle Aussicht und Lage. Eine Auto zu einem der naheliegenden Public beaches ist wichtig, ansonsten ist die Straße zu befahren um zu laufen. Das WiFi ist zu langsam.

Une très belle découverte !!!

Nous avons passé 3 semaines de pur bonheur à Océan Villa chambre avec deux salles de bains une intérieure et une extérieure très bien équipée et spacieuse et une piscine privative pour 3 chambres avec une magnifique vue sur la mer et très calme et reposant il y’a aussi 2 autres piscines dans l’hôtel. Nous avions pris la demie pension les dîners style buffet à thème sont délicieux et les petits déjeuners sont très complet (buffet continental) le personnel est très agréable et attentionné En résumé c’est parfait et j’y retournerai bientôt !!!

Property was very good for a family. We took 2 separate rooms. Staff were accommodating to give us rooms adjacent to each other. Rooms were spacious. Good restaurant in the property and breakfast was included. Though lunch was a bit expensive. Has a private beach and some activities included in the price which was a plus. The only negative which needs to be taken care of is that the toilet has no door to separate it from the bathroom or from the bedroom also. While this may have been done keeping honeymoon couples in mind it does create foul smell in the room as there is no exhaust.

Personnel aimable et à l'écoute ! Proximité de la route, trop de bruits de moteurs. Les chiens non plus ne nous laissaient pas nous reposer la nuit... Piscine à débordement en bord de mer n'est pas accessible par tous les locataires !

Parfait !

Super séjour à océan villa où nous avons passé 10 jours . Le personnel est agréable et disponible . Le restaurant est fantastique et très varié. La chambre côté mer est très jolie est conforme au photo. Excellent rapport qualité prix ! Nous sommes surpris de certains commentaires car soit l’hôtel a besoin d’un petit coup de frais mais il est très agréable et bien placé. Si vous voulez un hôtel pour visiter l’île c’est le lieu idéal par contre si vous ne souhaitez pas quitter votre transat allez on club med à 500 m Mais ce n’est pas le même prix !😉

While I appreciated the hospitality and found most of the staff to be friendly, there were a few issues that left me disappointed. Upon arrival, I noticed that my bed sheets and pillow had several blood stains, which was quite concerning. After informing the reception, they did try to resolve the issue, which I appreciate, but such a situation should not have occurred in the first place. I believe housekeeping standards should be reviewed to ensure better cleanliness for future guests. Additionally, I encountered an issue with billing. I had only one extra drink during my stay, which I paid for immediately, as the rest was included in my booking. However, on the night before my departure, the receptionist informed me that I still had an open bill on my room. This was frustrating, as I knew I had settled my payment. I have experienced similar situations in other countries, and while I was not entirely surprised, I was disappointed to see it happen here. That being said, I do want to acknowledge that most of the staff were warm and welcoming, and I generally found people in Mauritius to be friendly and honest compared to other places I’ve traveled.
