Wonderful Staff, Terrible Bathroom

The staff at Hotel Mosaico were very friendly and helpful, and if not for them, I would have rated the hotel even lower. When we arrived, there was no air conditioning in our room and no instructions whatsoever about how to turn the air on. It was sweltering. The staff gave us ice for our drinks. The refrigerator was also not cold and it took about 12 hours to get that way. Worst of all, however, was the tiny shower. The shower door folded in, there was no room to shave your legs, and there was not separate shampoo, conditioner, and body wash … there was an all-in-one product that was not kind to my hair. The shower was smaller than what we have in our camper!!! It took a very long time for the water to get hot in the shower.

Located by the port, across from the train station, and a block away from Theoderic’s Tomb the hotel offers easy access to a very walkable city. You are no more then 20ish minutes from the city centre and all of the sites it offers. Highly recommend the top floor suites which have amazing light in the morning.

Very pleasant Hotel

Had adjoining rooms with two bathrooms. One room was small, but both rooms were clean. Beds really comfortable. Good parking. Staff were very friendly and check in was easy. The location wasn’t bad - a short walk to the train station and town centre. One little problem though. Our European adaptor plugs could not fit any of the sockets in the room, so we could not charge our phones. We’ve experienced this in Italy before though.

If you are walking to this hotel from Ravenna Train station make sure to us the underground walk way. Saves a lot of walking time. There isn’t much around the hotel area for food. If you are looking to visit old Ravenna it’s a walk through some areas that I didn’t feel safe.

Our family of 4 (kids age 9-11) stayed at the residence (more like a Airbnb) in early October 2024 for 1 night before going on a cruise. We arrived late and checked in around 8:30pm. To find our way from front desk to the suite is hard and it took us 30 minutes! So be prepared. The suite is quiet, clean and very spacious. If you will stay for more than one night, this is a good place. Bring your own food and water. They don’t provide electronic kettle or coffee machine or microwave. Staff is friendly. They helped us to call taxi service. Generally speaking, good value, great location, good staff. We highly recommend.

Worst place to stay

This is not a “Hotel”. The check In location is a hotel. The room is 0.40 miles away and you need to walk and drag your luggage. There is no heat or AC. They do not clean the place. This is run down third world ghetto. Worst place I have stay in my 30 years of travel. I have stayed in more than 200 hotels.

Upon check in we were told we were staying at the apartment not at the hotel which the poctures show, 10 minute walk in heavy traffice to an area which did not seem safe. Apartments were dirty, we had booked 2 because we had 8 people and one of them the shutters were broken so we couldnt get out to the balcony, i called and was told someone would come to fix it and never showed. We could not find a close place to eat. Thank god my son had uber eats app and there were 3 restaurants on it so we could order from. Was a horrible experience.

Rude Owner

Worst hotel experience of our life. According to the website the hotel has air conditioner but the rude owner decided to shut off the air conditioner of all rooms. When asked about it he said that the weather was going to be nice therefore he turned them off. He was extremely rude and will not allowed us to talk. We asked for a refund of our money and he gave it back very rudely. The owner preferred to not do business with 5 people rather than turn the A/C on. How dare him tell me how to be comfortable? Will not recommend at all!!!

My family really liked this property. We stayed at Residence Mosaic which means we had a full apartment to ourselves. But thankfully we had a car because it was about a ten minute walk away from the check in desk and we arrived well after dark. The main hotel is located very close to the train/bus station which is probably why it felt unsafe. From the apartment, low cost transfer to the cruise terminal was challenging for our party of 6. The shuttle advertised at the hotel was 20 euro/person. Royal Carribean had a shuttle for $10/person. However, we’d turned in our car and, for both of these options, the walk with our luggage was too difficult for some of our party. There’s a bus stop nearby the residence but it was closed on Sundays. We were about to call a taxi when the groundskeeper offered to drive us for less than 20 euro total! These comments are based on us staying in the apartment as opposed to the hotel. The Royal Carribean shuttle is close to the main hotel. Overall, I’d recommend this place. It was great to have our whole party in one place with the two bedroom apartment and it was clean and a great price.

Overbooked and don’t care!!

I booked a room with multiple beds because it was me and another lady. Got there and they had downgraded us to a single bed. For those that don’t know these are more like full beds than queen. She said she was very sorry but they had an issue with their reservation program and asked if we still wanted it…I asked if she had an additional room available…she said no it was sold out…did we want…well we need someplace to sleep. This room was so small I sat in the closet until the other lady got in bed because we couldn’t move around the room at the same time. When it was my turn to get ready for bed I noticed there was only 1 towel. I go to the lobby, it’s a man now, and ask for another towel. He says your room is for 1 person so you only get 1 towel!! I said then why did YOU put 2 people in it…showed him my reservation but it did no good! I went outside to calm down and a family with 2 small children walked in and were turned away too!! Overbooked and don’t care at all!!
