Good hotel with a great location.

A comfortable hotel in a great location with lots of character and history. Antique furnishing provided a quant charm and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was a buffet that helped to start the day off right.

Great option in Pisa

Old classic hotel by the river, great location with easy walk to the Dome and Tower and just 13 min walk from the train station. The hotel is old style but in very good shape, I got a room with river view and it was well worth it. Loved Pisa, underrated stop in la Toscana. Staff makes a great aperitif and there is a very nice terrace to enjoy a sit down. Would stay again.

The hotel is easily accessible from the train station and in the center of Pisa. The down side is there’s no air conditioning and super noisy outside with people enjoying the nightlife.

Charming hotel with wonderful staff

The oldest hotel in Italy, you won't find the sterile decor of most hotels but it's charming and clean with lots of interesting things to look at. The air conditioning is a bit noisy but was very appreciated. The views over the river are very beautiful, the Palazzo Blu is just across the river and there are some great gelateria and restaurants nearby. Leaning Tower is about 15min walk. What stood out to us at this hotel was the staff. They were all very welcoming, friendly and happy to give us advice on where to park our car, dinner recommendations etc.

The hotel claims to be the oldest in Italy and although that has it's charm the facilities do show their age. The wi-fi was very good as was the location, being close to the shops, bars & restaurants and only a 15min walk from the station and to the tower. The staff are excellent and always helpful. The continental breakfast was ample to start the day.

Fantastic location, close to main points of interest. Tower maybe 15mins and restaurants, churches, shops all close by. Try the Bombolini in Piazza Garibaldi ;). Hotel was very friendly and an interesting/ characterful environment. Staff were all great and breakfast was good. We had a river view room which had plenty of space and a lovely outlook.

Characterful and with a long history of literary guests. A refreshing change from the blandness of modern hotels: not for everyone but I don't mind ageing paintwork and chipped tiling when it comes with an Arno view like this. A bath plug would have been nice but I've learned how to improvise one.

Very well located in Pisa centre, very close to restaurants and bars and a 15 min walk to Pisa Tower. The hotel has a very interesting decor full of history, the staff is super friendly and attentive. The hotel is a bit tired, especially in the bedrooms, in need of a renovation. Nevertheless, for a short stay in Pisa, definitely recommend it.

Friendly staff, simple layout to the hotel. Slightly outdated in my honest opinion, just needs a bit of maintenance in places. However I understand the hotel is going for the ‘old fashioned’ look to capture the unique history of the building. Breakfast was fairly average but pleasant. Room was also average but retro interior made it nice. Interesting stay and the acceptable price.

Convenient hotel location and helpful staff

The hotel location is great for going around in town. It is within about 15 minutes from all attractions and the train station. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful during check-in and check-out. Our room was facing the river and it offered a great view in the morning and evening. A variety of food (bread, cold-cut, juice, fruits, etc.) were served at the breakfast. Included in the breakfast were special coffee which were ordered separately from the staff. The bathroom was kind of old style and was equipped with basic toiletries. A curtain was used in the shower stall of our room although I heard that some rooms have a glass enclosure. Overall, it was a great stay for us in the hotel that is a full of history.
