It was a good hotel, located in a really convenient place for my trip. The only downside I had was that there was hair in the bed. But they moved me to a different room and it was great besides that. Comfy beds, secure, cheap.

I liked how it was close to BART like a 4-5 min walking distance. Along with how inexpensive it was, about $65-70 night within a package deal. Hotel was very minimalist, which is what I wanted, the card security added an extra layer of security since you couldn't get in unless you had a room key.

Someone kept crapping in the communal showers and it always reeked. The rooms were enough to stay in with one sink. Felt pretty secure, access to the room required the room key us to go through two doors, and elevator. The desk person across the street, who gave us our room, was way more accomodating than the desk person in the actual hotel. The hotel apparently doesnt have working staff or specifically the desk person until after 3pm on certain days. Other guests were also confused, looking for the desk person.

It was the perfect low frills, low cost hotel for our conference at the Moscone center. Very easy walk to the convention center, surrounded by great Asian cuisine.

If you're looking for a place to spend the night with no frills, I can recommend the Bartlett. The room was clean, the mattress firm, and an iron and blow dryer were in the closet. The room temperature was comfortable but there was no thermostat. I did miss having a washcloth for my face, but that's minor.

We were never notified that the check in desk was at the Stratford Hotel, down the street, around the corner, and up a hill. Having to drag luggage to the check in desk, wait in a long line for one person to check in two hotels, then drag luggage back to Bartley was terrible. Don’t stay here if you’re looking for convenient check in or acceptable service
