The hotel's location in the center of the city is excellent. It is a somewhat aged building. We could feel the springs of the bed mattress in our room. The breakfast buffet was quite good. We attended during jazz. Not good. We had an issue with unexpected loud noise (another guest) which was never resolved. The room was also not cleaned satisfactorily. Used to be a good budget option but this was overpriced, uncomfortable and generally poor.

Great hotel, even better staff!

Wonderful hotel, fantastic staff, superb experience and will definitely stay here again. Substantial room at very competitive price. Very close to a multitude of shops, restaurants, bars, and main classical music concert hall and large cinema only around the corner. Faultless experience.

Comfortable stay

Hotel is on a busy road and being an old hotel there was no double glazing so we had loud traffic noise until at least 1am, maybe the rooms at the back are quieter? Check in was a bit chaotic, rooms not ready leaving lots of people waiting in the reception for a while. The room itself was very nice, spacious and clean, comfortable beds and bathroom toiletries. Great location for exploring the centre of Rotterdam.

Other than the super dusty room and very dusty AC that would circulate even more dust through-out the room, my hotel stay was somewhat satisfactory. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there are free bottled drinks offered daily such as water, ice tea, alcohol, and soda.

The hotel has very nice rooms - spacious, clean, comfortable. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived early so they stored our luggage for us and gave us directions to go exploring Rotterdam. The hotel has good security requiring a key card to enter the hotel after 11 PM and to use the elevator. The buffet breakfast is very good with many options. The breakfast room is also very nice. I would recommend this hotel

Incorrect tax charged

DOUBLE CHECK your city tax amount during check-in!! We were charged an extra of €40 city tax during check in due to the hotel’s mistake. Poor customer service with no apology from any staff members. Felt mistreated and discriminated throughout the whole experience.

Unfortunately not a great stay. We like the hotel and stayed there previously, but this room 618 was something ( horrendous chair, loos outlets on desk, curtains to short, stain). Add not cleaning our room, and lack of any empathy and awareness of the front desk staff and doubtful if I want to return. Breakfast and breakfast staff was great, and location is superb. They just need a fresh pair of eyes on maintenance and hospitality

In the Center of everything

Excellent hotel tight in the center of everything all tourist attractions easy walkable central train and bus station 8 minute walk flat all the way food pavements for filling trolly cases. Plenty at breakfast to choose from but not traditional English fry up. also no English breakfast cereals. Highly recommend this hotel. Book second level of room which are quite large either double or twin beds not the cheapest budget room which are quite small. Tea coffee kettle in room.

The Lounge
This hotel is one of the few building that were not bombed in the 11 world war.

Main foyer and grand staircase this hotel is a piece of history which survived the bombing of Rotterdam in the 11 World War

The room was not particularly presentable compared to the pictures. Furniture was well worn, the ceiling was stained, the bathroom was ok. The room I was in was far too hot at night and full of mosquitos. As I was at the back of the hotel I could not open windows due to the sound of generators. I think I slept only 2-3 hours per night. The people in the room opposite were noisy and smoking on the premises.

No excuse

My first room on the 3rd floor was very poor. The hair dryer for example was so disgusting, I didn't want to touch it! It was full of scratches, flaking paint and areas were it has been back glued toether. The windows are metail frames and single glazed - and badly fitting. They let in drafts and noise. It was the worst night sleep I have ever had in any hotel. I was then moved to to a quiet room.- which was better. But after settling down, I wanted to turn on the TV to find no remote in the room! And so it goes on. I for one will not be returning.
